There's nothing up, I'm simply an idle shite!!! :D

remember though you will be faster on the day than any recce.
Do you need to book any camping or does the car park field just turn into a camping ground after the majority of punters have left???
Myself, Mrs Goosefat and Goslingfat are planning to camp but need to find out what goes?
i broached the subject of another recce last night and guess what
the deal was a holiday in ibiza:(
or else daz
Fancy Tagging Along Saturday If I Can, How Long Are You Planning On Being Out ?
Yeah, cheers, Daz! I'll still be suffering from BG knee at Borrowdale, probably. Going over to Bamford this evening for my first race - the descent from Win Hill should put my poor knee thoroughly to the test.
80 degrees sounds interesting, though. I'm sure my BG recce notes had 60 degrees - but there was no grass to be seen anywhere around there.
Hi folks, I'm planning to camp on Friday night - don't know where yet. If anyone else is camping it would be good to get into the same site - shall we suggest somewhere?Quote:
Have you thought about camping on the friday night? Is that possible?
will you be ok to get there for 10 - still not sure how many are coming
EVERYONE..............where are you:confused:
I'm working in Carlisle on the Friday so will be travelling up there on Thursday night. Then heading for the Lakes sometime after 4PM on Friday.
Also racing at Bamford tonight.
Really looking forward to catching up with you all :)
Though gonna have a little look at me map later for possible cop-out places. Bit far innit? ;)
Oh, just noticed I'd missed a few pages when reading this thread. Looks like a car at Honister might be my saviour then.
Hope everyone's not planning going too quick... gulp! You sound in a bit of a rush.
Where's Chapel House campsite?
I'm staying here on fri night!

There's plenty of good campsites just outside of Rosthwaite nice and close to the finish and better still the beer tent! :D
Cheers Calf and Hopey. Will check that out. We usually stay at Braithwaite, but it's had a bit of a tendency to be noisy recently. It is near the Coledale Inn though, which is a big plus point. I
If you head towards Honister from the start of the race, there's a campsite on the left about half a mile and then another half a mile further.

This is the link 'Notonurnelly' posted earlier in the thread for Chapel House Farm, I've not been there myself.

If it's no good there is a site I've used in Buttermere which I really liked (Syke Farm I think it was called).
I stayed at Chapel House last week, it's ok, good spot, you'll run past it on the race, it's next to the church, where I believe Bob Graham is buried.
There's a couple of sites at Seathwaite as well.
i may yet camp then
emmi were are you stopping , same as this lot
I think we should do a naked reccee
...for a change
You're were too quick! are you permanently logged into this thread? There
are just some things I couldn't leave on the post...Didn't want to start
another fashion trend.
I had visions of Pete Bland being overrun with orders for golfing socks. I
believe Tetley's profits have soared since the Trans Fan T-cosy photo. Tea's
the new Real Ale apparently!

I may as well put everything back in there now...like... to get that true
borrowdale experience a certain DS opted to wade through the stream at
Rosthwaite at the weekend.. Of course it wasn't a reccie no no no! couldn't possibly be... I think she'd spotted a rare moss orchid or something.
just to check then, if i turn up at the car park i can tag along ? ...are you doing the full course?
yes of course you can come owmeknee
Be prepared for the initiation ceremony though
yes Daz - but won't get there until later on on the friday as the kids are going away so need to sort them first!
hmmm - not sure the world is ready for that image!! (speaking for myself of course.)
;)
it's ok for you it'll all be a blur as you whizz down - for us shufflers though it's a different matter!!
are you doing full course ? does initiation involve nakedness and sheep?
wondreing if you are recceing full course nakedness /sheep optional
