These cycling threads have perked this forum up since the demise of 'down the pub' :)
Can we do it in July or August? I have a lot on before then...............Will give young Al a chance to get bike conditioned as well.
And whilst we are talking about challenges, Vince's Duathalon from Helwith bridge could be a good cyclist/runners head to head.......................
The summer sounds good for the challenge... I have rathhher a busy schedule and will need a day off to ride 100 miles, unless I got up a bit early...
My arse hurts..........don't even ask!
Its all Toffers fault...ask him!
Ohhh you boys.... thought you'd agreed to give up that sort of behaviour:eek:
Seeing as my left ankle is playing up I went on the Tuesday club ride which saw us head up into the Yorkshire Dales. Did quite a bit on the front with 2 hard sessions culminating into a hill sprint. Stayed dry and warm enough for short sleeves at times. 75 miles at 17.5.
75 @17.5, good stuff Addy.
Nothing like that going on down here, seem to gravitate to the steepest of hills at the moment. So yesterday in the final good weather of the holiday a mere 33 @13.5:eek: But before you scoff that was all hills, the last but one probably the steepest in S Wales, the dreaded Ponty golf course climb where it an effort just to stay upright on the hairpins:eek: Steeper than the Devils Staircase, or as it has been re-named for Tour de Galles purposes, L'escalier du Diable:eek:
Week a Friday is day before 3p so better not (achilles dependent)
This Sunday.....? I'll see what happens. Supposed to be on a charity ride out (motorbike) but I'll see nearer the weekend.
You could come out on the club ride on Sunday Em - 9am at Whalley (park car at Spring Wood). Usually a sensibly paced ride. Route sorted on the day.
I'll PM you nearer weekend.
