Tanky's trog

My first Tankys. Found it really reallly really hard but its my own fault for going off too quick. Cant wait for next year when I'm to take a chunk out of my 4 hours 38 minutes. Thanks to all for organising. Still cant believe I started in West Yorkshire and finished in Derbyshire!

well done everyone-it looks fantastic and the pictures have inspired me for next year. Southern Softie- we need to add it to the CTJM thread for 2010!!

Hi Barbieken, setting off in the West Riding and finishing in the Peak is great. If you haven't already done it you should try the Round Rotherham 50. You set off in some godforsaken industrial estate on the outskirts of Rotherham then 50miles later you're back there again! :eek:

A big thanks from me, Els, Ali and Matt from Glossop (some of who are -dale too). We were keeping up the rear and were very appreciative of all the support from MR, the organisers and everyone else who supported.

Thanks also to the people who asked if we'd got lost - we were fine, just enjoying the day out!

Question i am doing Edale skyline. If i complete successfully do you think i would be capable of completing the 2010 tanky's.

I did Edale for the first time this year and Tanky's too and completed both. Not sure that helps you though? If you do Edale then don't run for 8 months I'd say give Tanky's a miss!!

Navigation is more of an issue with Tanky's. (Not that the Skyline is easy to navigate, necessarily).

Hi Tri,
Get some miles under your belt over Black Hill & Bleaklow. Enter a couple of longer events (Grin & Bear it in October is a good one, you can run the long course and get some serious time on your feet). If you put the time in building your stamina and nav skills, you'll do it.
I would be happy to meet up with you and tackle bits of the route as I live in that area.
