And no, I didn't go for a ride today, thought I might rust:eek:
But I did go yesterday, 30 miles, nipped in a retour de Col du Roc Blanche, got bl**dy soaked:eek::(
1.5 hours on the cross bike before work this morning!
Sun was shining, but it was still very very wet under wheel and foot, because of the incessant rain for days we have had. Never been as muddy as this before in my life I reckon :)
Great fun, but starting to realise I seriously lack in upper body strength for pushing and carrying the bike and also handling it off road seems heavy on the upper body... Not easy for a puny roadie ;)
Still, I think I have enough time to build up some strength before 27 September :)
Thinking about a ride on the roadbike that incorporates l'Escalier du Diable on Sunday
The aftermath :D

Lol Bw :)
I just read the one about excessive packaging on that website, genius! Or rather, ridiculous!!!!:D
Lovely ride tonight, Nant Peris > Pen Y Pass > Beddgel > Rhyd > Llanfestiog > Pen Machno (Via migneint) > Betws > Capel > Nant Peris. 50-55 miles, with a few decent climbs in. Strong winds made the Capel to PyG section the hardest bit of the ride.
20 minutes up to the highest village in Britain and back (~5 miles). Testing my new clip-in pedals.
And yes, I did fall off once :(
