This may have already been asked but i can't be arsed searching. Do people know if we are expected to carry a map given the course is fully marked?
Earlier replies indicated no, though a compass has to be carried. As has been pointed out already, this seems a little odd.
Do you have to stick to the path coming off Whernside?
Yes - I think I saw this on the race website.
No you don't but I've downloaded the map off the website on to a sheet of A4 and put my splits on it so I can check my progress.
The whole route is flagged and this route must be followed, Any other route will lead to instant disqualification so the website says.
I've found a few pictures of Whernside and surrounds on the internet to get everybody in the mood :)
