I was at Widdop res today so managed a lunchtime run over the tops skirting Worsthorne. Warm, damp & heavy going underfoot when not on the PBW path. Calf seems happy enough for now................

Head torch run this morning!!! 7.30 am and it was dark and raining hard. need to start building mileage so forced my self out for a 10 mile hilly road.
Just got home in time for the heavy rain to change to torrential :)
Feel happier for it now. Turbo tonight I think.
5 miles, another one on the roads. The joys of house hunting for the remainder of today.
Half hour wet hilly road run and half hour conditioning. Squat holds, tuck jumps, planks etc. Legs on fire
Good grief, 2 1/2hrs on the local. Pound for pound some of the hardest terrain in effort terms I've dealt with all year.
When the heather was short enough to see over the going was good.
Treadmill session..
10 miles, 2 mile warm up then charlie spedding style sess.. pyramids at marathon pace, 6:05-6:10 min mile, 1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1 mins with matched rest of preceeding effort at 7:00 min mile pace... made the time pass.. nice enough..
Followed yesterdays 3.5 miles early am on treadmill, then 9 miles on road at 6:13 pace with last 4 all 6:05 pace or less.. not had a day off since mid october but finally feeling fresh after the marathon in mid october.. actually feeling more psyched for training than ever.
Early morning trip up Back Tor and Lost Lad, not much as it was more of a recovery run on a beautiful morning....
Then up mickledon for another easy session. probably junk miles but the day was too nice to waste.
OK, I'll stop complainingQuote:
Treadmill session..
No such thing as junk miles if you enjoyed themQuote:
probably junk miles
Wow I really am an amateur - I did a similar session today but at 6:30 min mile and 8 min mile recoveries (which I thought was too fast). I can honestly say I felt seriously sick for an hour after the run...........Although I did have curry, chips and rice about 2 hrs before my run!! 6:30's are nearer to my 5k pace so maybe too fast.
Lovely out there at the moment, steady half marathon'ish on trails/fields and back lanes.
