I'm not going out tonight. It's really wet and windy and i don't like it. Just to be clear i would happily train with the woman of my dreams tonight, which is ironic as she lives up the hill i would be doing reps on tonight, but i can't be arsed going out alone; not in this weather.
Yeah its grim tonight. We're on the track doing 400mtr reps.
At least it won't be frozen like last week.

Never seen bramley park this wet, 21.36 for the parkrun, standing water everywhere including the fields. It was one of those days when you just turn up and do your best, it wasn't a very committed run. I couldn't get the car windscreen demisted on the drive home, it wouldn't clear, it was that bad.
Otley Chevin Forest was fairly grim this morning. I had extra punishment as I ran the course check first for them. Very average run for me, but my son was 6 minutes faster than me and got a PB. I've brought him a pair of Mudclaws for Christmas!
You are right about driving back from Parkrun in a steamed up car. Mine was the same and I had to drive back without my glasses on - also steamed up! Foul day - Loads of folk out in Otley today running a PunkPanther Ultra.
When I was cycling home from the town centre in this morning's rain (but before the wind had got up), I passed a rather large group of female students in running kit at the bottom of the long, rather gentle hill. It's a popular venue for hill reps (despite what I regard as a rather derisory gradient), and sure enough, several girls came running past me as I plodded up the hill on my bicycle loaded down with shopping.
Another wet day, bit pointless driving up to the dales so I had to kiss the frog; run on otley chevin. 5.5m 1730' with many hills as I'm trying to prepare for wansfell, up and down the muddy eyesore three times in total. I was thinking about attaching a map of my outing, but it would be of little use to a proper fellrunner and very hard to make sense of, what with all the loops and carrying on. Hoping for better weather next weekend.
No run on Tuesday due to knackered calves, kept the powder dry.
Tinshill Lane reps tonight, for some reason my right lateral knee started killing only on the steady runs down, not on the way up. Stability issues again.

A panic set in on rep 4 and I stepped on the gas with 100m to go. Should have trusted my pacing, nothing to worry about.
Probably still a bit of training gain to be had on the chevin at the moment, before moving into hillier terrain. Adjusted the route a bit to gain more climb, 5.4m/1800' for the session and felt stronger on the hills in general. I've recced a slightly ludicrous off piste alternative section at the beginning of the first big descent on WNTTAC. It leaves the path earlier and cuts off a corner, thus avoiding some horrible steps, but it's like a 1:3 crash through the woods and a potential fall off a crag if your entry point is wrong. Skid off balance and you will almost certainly hit a tree, or get whipped in the eye by a low branch. It will enable me to take 20s out of the people in front of me and make my strongest section even stronger.
