Bloody cold has meant I'm only cycling as running would kill me (slightly over dramatic but I'm not good at being ill). Hoping to be back running tomorrow eve. Thinking cycling is better than nothing :-)

1hr on the turbo trainer early this morning
1hr 30m ish club run at an easy pace this evening.
10m on the hill, bounding through heather and forests in the glorious evening sunshine
Felt rubbish, but when it's that nice on the hill I don't care
Did a short recce of last bet of Buttermere HS / Darren Holloway Memorial. 6.5 mile / 2,200'. Felt somewhat better than my last post here. I have rested up a bit, took some iron supplelments and I think I'm getting it back a bit. Pretty sure I've basically picked up a virus about 3-4 weeks ago thats really just stuffed my recovery etc. Its not something I really noticed accept I occasionally felt 'fluey' or had a 'bit of a sore throat'. Only really when I exercise has it really bothered me. Anyway, hopefully I'm over the worst. Still going to pull out of Three Peaks as if I dont recover from that quickly it'll stuff up my prep for Buttermere.
Cheers again for helpful comments folks.
I'd guess you've had similar to me 'Irish'. I've obviously no idea as to your conditioning. All I'd say is that the couple of times I've done Ultras in consecutive months I've done very little in between anyway so I'd say if you were fit to run strongly before the April Ultra you'll be ok for Fellsman. The only thing I'd say is make sure the virus is well out of your system or be prepared to DNF if it kicks in half way round. Also there is the issue of viruses causing serious conditions if you do hard exercise with one in your system!! But I'm sure your aware of all that.
I've had a similar thing, sore throat, fluey feeling, arms have been aching whilst running, feel like I'm running in treacle, a few guys at work have had the same, had blood tests/ urine sample done this week, nothing showing, its a pain in the butt
5 miles round the Snaefell course today. Just me and the skylarks. What a nice afternoon.
