Likewise mate, keeps me sane. Good work!
(Then again, I only live three miles from my office ...)

hehe! Yep, I've found myself thinking the last few weeks on Tuesday evenings, do I go out with the (all male) Twickenham chaingang in the cold, dark and wet, or sit in the spin studio, mmm ...?
I'm lucky to have a really nice routine here though - for a Londoner anyway: run to work most mornings, then two / three nights a week run straight from there to spin, and then run home from spin (each of those runs being three miles, so nine miles in total). Just need to be organised with all the kit.
That alll works out at two or three hours' hard exercise on three - maybe two if I'm lazy - days of the week, and an hour or two on the remaining days. And no bus fares.
Right ive come back in here from the eu area
Is it 'hot' in there?
I am purposefully staying away...
Still no cycling due to bad back, but it seems to be a bit better after a very gentle and careful half hour potter on Saturday, so onwards and upwards!
Really missing the cross though, it is so addictive! And gutted to have missed out on the Welsh champs and now also on the chance to win the Welsh league :(
Ah well, there is 2012 to look forward to, with a new race team joined and all that :)
Ah yes it was.70 mins on rollers tonight. Five minutes on five minutes off in the 13 sprocket.Wind blowing the shed and badger pacing up and down outside waiting for his run.I didnt want to go but he gave me that bloody look.He won
Hann have you left the ajax ?
I was supposed to be work on Saturday but during quiet moments I completely stripped my 631 road bike. I don't entirely know why... it seemed like a good idea at the time! I'm debating whether to move everything off my alu roadie onto it and get some carbon forks. Problem is 1" carbon forks aren't that easy to come by anymore.
Dom, try typing in kinetic one. They sorted me out.If you get some off them though. Make sure you sort the headset etc out. They will prob have some in stock. They have a workshop service which can fit them. He did mine whilst i wandered around the town.
http://www.kinetic-one.co.uk ?
That's the best deal I've found.
Yeah well they cut the steerer for me and left plenty of stack height with a good few spacers. I trimmed mine down half an inch after. He has all the tools. The lot.Its only a small place but they know there stuff.Good luck
Oh and he will fit the star nut as well with his star nut tool.
Even i aint got a star nut fitting tool.
Dom, whatever you do, don't fit it yourself... remember UJ????? :w00t: Headset press is the wrong size anyway for that 1 ins steerer...
yeah you're right
running it is obviously better exercise than cycling it though (which is only ten minutes and too many lights and junctions to get any speed up or test the engine)
six miles' running a day burns through a few calories if nowt else ...
how far you got steve?
My crown race setter is a piece of tube from work.
You rarely use the things mind. Thats the problem with bike tools.
Yeah do it yourself Dom, def a job for over christmas.
Sometimes when you have re built it back together you will apply the front brake and get that little movement like what Hann had all those bike rides ago.
Put a spacer just under the cap. ( I never have the cap directly onto my stem). That should do it.
If it still persists a little trick is to loosen the stem, stand over the top tube, press down on the bars and move them left to right, keep on the pressure as you ctr them and then re tighten.
It just works.
One thing that people sometimes get wrong is when they have purchased the headset. Ensure before you rip open the packaging and take it to pieces is to remember which order the washers etc go back together. Saves wasting 4 hrs finding which order they go back.
have fun
I would never join the Jiff ;) I am still a member of Ajax as well :)
New kit yes, provided by the team... better looking than those white panelled Ajax shorts!

Ah the old panelled shorts dilema.Hinault had the same problem hann with his la vie claire shorts.Very cold tonight in the shed. 60 mins on rollers, threw in 12 x 1 min reps after the turn. The 6 miles with the dog after over the hills was a bit sketchy.
Can anyone remember what that video was called with that lad in America throwing that sign about.?
Cannot find it and someone here at work wants to see it.

Loads of em here Daz
Some nice mountainbiking was had over the weekend :)
Now back to training, me thinks, with a brief interruption for xmas in Holland, unless I decide to take a bike... hmmm, I think KLM doesn't charge extra for a bike, as long as it isn't heavier than their luggage allowance...
I'm going through an Ullrich-esque winter rest-o-binge.
Let's hope I also show his powers of determination and recovery when it comes to the new Year ...
Now then Ian. I used to do a fair bit of mountain biking in the Peak before I moved up to Yorkshire. I've never really done any road cycling although I love the history and the culture of the sport (much more than athletics). One year soon I'm going to get a crosser and do the Peaks bike race. I might make it a target for when I'm 50
I got a bit fed up so jumped on the bike about 6.30 for a ride out in around country lanes(Bowland)and enjoyed every min of it, just got back at 8.00
Not slippy tonight just wet unlike sat night where I had to cut it short as the back end was all over the place!
Honestly, I don't think I could ride a bloody carousel at the moment ...
Recovery session on turbo legs and balls of feet suffering so just 35mins @ 100 cadence.
On the positive
23 day consistant training
7 runs, 6 Roller sessions 6 Turbo sessions 2 Gym sessions 2 fell races
Only 8 more day to go if the body holds up.
Wow Stagger! That is great going :)
I bailed out of a planned road ride with a mate... we drank endless coffees in stead... lashing rain and strong wind, not pleasant so no point going out really...
