Borrowdale Fell Race

Oh dear, wondering if bitten off more than I can chew on this one:confused:

Did a full recce yesterday, was really lucky with the weather absolutley glorious! Some numpty on the top of scarfell pike mind, on his mobile interupting everyone's peace and quiet:rolleyes:

Hardest one I've done to date in terms of terrain and rock/bolder/scree hoping, final climb up Dalehead wasn't as bad as hauling myself up Great Gable but we'd had a wee picnic at Honister first!!

Not sure I'll make the cut off to be honest - looking forward to the next recce (June 23rd in case anyone has forgotten!!) Will try to improve myself before then:o Honest!

I thought that it might be too hard for me, but you've got another 2 months or so to get fit for it. Just get some long runsin the lakes you should be fine.

That's the plan Graeme thanks! Think though if I can do it probably anyone can!!

need to get my sore foot sorted (ligament problem!) as this was a real pain dodging the rocks etc and went over on my ankle twice slowing down every descent:(

Any thoughts about timing yet? Anyone planning to stop over Friday/Saturday nights? If so, where?

Ill be camping and having a pint or two the night before Marvin. Think CastleHill is joining me on the camping. have not decided a site yet.

I'll be coming back home again.

Timing wise probably looking at 6 hours from scarfell hotel to the end. (picnic(s) on route :D )

We'll have to aim to meet in the car park at the hotel around 10ish I reckon as it's probably best to get off and plodding as early as possible but bearing in mind people are travelling far and wide to get to the lakes in the first place - maybe have a concensus of opinion?

just booked family and me into Burns farm campsite for the race weekend so will have to step up the training.
