freezing cold night but great run with Pennine. Just too short AGM night!
Can non-Penniners enter these night time races? And did anyone hear Bob Harris a few weeks ago on R2? Someone sent him a text saying they were running on Kinder in the middle of the night in a howling gale whilst listening to his show! Must be someone off here surely?
It is not a race just a club training run. A lot of the clubs would do the same thing. Just have a look at the club website for details. You are perfectly welcome to come to Hayfield at 7pm any Thursday night.
There are a lot of fell runnners out there running instead of wasting their time here so not necessary :)
Running on Farnhill Pinnacle tonight another runner was coming down as we passed through the gate. We'd gone a little farther up and so didn't quite pass and so couldn't say hello. Which one of you lot was it?
Sooo cold tonight. My shoe came off and I put my foot in the icy mud.
The stars were nice. Missed Dt and Stef.
Copper dragon Victorian Porter on good form.
Just back from a 65 minute run up & round Hameldon hill. Headtorch much better with fresh batteries! Tough conditions over the snow covered tussocks but made for a nice winter night run.
5.5m easy trail run out with the club, nay bad
Pennine's intended 3 hr run last night got cut back to two. Pretty difficult conditions, lots of rain and sleeting snow, plus ice underfoot. Enjoyable though for the four of us :)
A corker with the hound last night in deep 'graunchy' snow
30 minutes on roads for me tonight with a rather contrived multi-lap of the village route. Stunning night with an amazingly clear sky
9 miles 1600' on the roads last night. Some decent climbs to aide my journey back to fitness. I had a great night's sleep on the back of it as well
The stars were fantastic last night weren't they? I did the best part of a 6 miler in the hills with Harry and a sniffly Hester. Absolutely brilliant http://connect.garmin.com/activity/251148737
Ambleside to the Kirkstone Pass and and back - up 1,400 ft, 2.9 miles each way - ice on the road in places which was actually closed to traffic. Bitterly cold but no wind, adequate grip in 315s, Hope R4 on lowest setting was excellent.
Blimey all this road running in the dark. A few scaredy cats amongst us I reckon ;)
Great run last night, well the first one, nice 5 miler from Pen Kennels out along the NW footpath > Foel Lus, descend down towards dwyglylwychi, pick up the jubilee path and back down via the fish farm and caravan park.. lovely cold crisp night..

Went for a Night walk last night. Not allowed to run yet but dark Peak had a Night race on so got some long exposure shots
Can't imagine you not running Ian, must be driving you bonkers
Club run for me, still cold. Great lumps of ice on the beach.
Did he urban nights race.. 10 miler around 7 billy hills in Sheffield.. I was last... Ran 12.5 miles.. Good session got lost in manor top.. Always fun... Had everything from run forest run.. To knees up... But the worst was when an old guy pointed out 'there's that guy again'... So I checked my map and righty enough I was going back the wrong way...
Getting lost in Manor Top, yeh, I'd be running too
Beautifully crisp and clear (when one got above the cloud) on ilkley moor last night. A short run and not a fast one either but a lovely evening out and a bit of an adventure.
Me and my mate and fellow BG attempter Andy ran up Hartfell (806m) tonight with head torches, it was a bit bleak on the tops with low cloud and wind, despite us knowing the route well we had ajob finding the fence that leads to the Trig point on the top in the low visibility. But we eventually found it, here is a photo of Andy sitting on top of the 5 bargate just before the Trig point so you can get an idea of how deep the snowstill is on the tops.
Coming back down we had to make a decision on whether to come back on a compass bearing off the corner of the fence or just follow own meandering foot prints in the snow, we followed the foot prints, lower down the snow had melted turning the path into sheet ice making it a bit tricky Andy took a fall but no harm done. Mind you the dogs knew the way back even in the clag.

Sorry about the quality of the photo but it was taken with my phone under a head torch.

8 miles around Bolton Abbey followed by a couple of hours in 'spoons. Felt dreadful on the run, but a large gammon dinner, two pints and a chocolate sundae and I'm coming round a bit :closed:
Club run, 5.2m 1275ft. Rather enjoyable, bum slidey descent.
3.5 mile jog round village tonight was 28th run in 28 days :closed:
Roughly 9 miles up n round cutgate back of langsett. Very very windy. Hard work. But very enjoyable. 1 hour 40.
Was hoping for a full moonlit run... But clouded..
:)
5mile / 700ft-ish from the White Lion followed by chicken lollies and gujons made for a nice evening
