thaks for the photos pilgrim. a really good record. i love looking at what happens to rest of the field and see that the norman wisdom falls, uncontrollable slides and general mishaps are cleary not exclusive to me. another good place for photos would be the checkpoint 9 before the last climb - thats where there was an incredible 10ft mud slide taking you down to the chap with the tag bag. he must be laughing tonight!

i was in such a bad way i refused Emmie's cake. Honestly Em it ewas me, there was no way i was getting out of the car to get some cake. it took me 10 minutes to get in. I was getting cramp driving home. the first wheelies in a car!
I DNFed after going off course heading down to CP5 having almost carried on towards CP2 for a second time. I had twinged my left ankle 3 or 4 times and had decided to plod around carefully but after that I decided to run back around on the roads to avoid any problems especially with Rotherham now just 4 weeks away. However even that wasn't without problems, as the built up area I could see in the distance and headed towards thinking it was Burnley was actually Clitheroe which became clear after a mile or so. So a quick u turn and I headed in the right direction and though not an ideal run, it was another 4 hours in the bag. I knew there was a reason for carrying a map and a compass :o
Good to see Emmi, Daz and Ady again. I also met Manhar and Man From Del Monte on the way around. Not sure if they realised it was me though.
Nice pics from Pilgrim. Plenty of me on Geronimo then again I did take my time coming down :rolleyes:
I'm off to make my long awaited orienteering debut today. My navigational skills need brushing up so it is nicely timed.

wow, almost feeling human again! i was the fool coming down great end, due to some 'experimental route choice'! what a tough race, i certainly found the downhills much more challenging than the ups-so slippy.

Finished a minute quicker than last year despite numerous stops to sort my wayward montrails. 2.57.50 that'll do for me.
Spent most of the middle of the race trying to get passed Dave Tait and Keiron Carr both v60's what fit lads these old boys are.

Lovely to meet you too Cheese. You certainly got me back on that very long and stoney track, it felt endless. I think you definiately have the potential to run that race faster now that you know the correct route! Very well done. Maybe see you again sometime.

It was my first time out on Pendle and it won't be the last. really friendly race apart from the last climb of course... i had my eyes closed and had to count my way through it..
Thanks to the guy at 7 of the juice and the motivational words. final road section felt about 5 miles long.. i couldn't grit my teeth any harder.
knackered but very pleased, 3.17 will do me.

Awesome pix with some brilliant action shots through the stream. Great one of me mincing through, thats after I consciously tried to look active and the one of Stolly with the orange kilt, well thats just a classic. Well done to the cameraman.
