Hope to see you all on the night and the day after!

Thanks for replies to my Qs.
Ian - you get my PM? Are you joining us on Friday?
Cool! You gonne meet us at Snake Pass, or Cutthroat Bridge?
The all stars recce team for Friday may have trouble getting to frigging Snake Pass which is currently closed due to ice and snow :(
Would a viable plan B be to get to Cutthroat Bridge from the other end and go as far as we can along Howden Edge towards Bleaklow and then follow our footsteps back again? It would make for a longer run to be sure but would also ptrovide double coverage of some of the difficult to navigate terrain that we would be blundering through in the dark on the night of the event?
Okay, so no key left out. What about breaking and entering? Self sufficient? Or does it fall into a bit of a grey area?;)
Em you'll be okay so long as you keep enough puff back to light a fag ;)

Its getting a bit close to the event but if anyone is short of a team member the students have a list of willing individuals to join a team. Contact Nick or Ali at [email protected] :)
No Possible about it. It was an ........
EPIC By any standards.
I've not seen condition so bad in the peak before. Bleaklow was frightening
I'll leave it up to the others to describe and to post the odd pic.
However if this helps Last week i did it in 3.20. today around 7.30!!!!! Not from the Lack of effort i can tell you
I'm wrecked.
Thanks To Clair for leaving the landy at SS it would have been along trudge in the snow Down the Snake with out it.
Made a bit of a Nav error near the end, I'll Stick to M&C in future:mad:
Bloody hell if you say it's hard it must be unbelievable.
That's quite scary if you thought it was that bad  We were out on Snake Top last night and were struggling to stay on the Pennine Way due to it being buried, but we didn't do the hard bit...
Buried, I take it we mean drifts of 5 foot plus.
Pretty much.... some of it was runnable on, but we found a fair few big holes to fall down...
I know what you mean you can never be quite sure even when certain of navigation that your not going to drop down a ruddy great hole as all the lands features are gone. Cn be very unsettling even for the most experienced runners.
I very much doubt this as you seemed to be just surviving but did anyone take pictures or anything as it sounds fascinating.
oooof. That was a tough day at the office indeed. Thanks Ian for your constant snow breaking at the front - you must be knackered and thanks for looking after and almost hyperthermic birthday girl  Jeeeeezuz that's gonna be one bloomin long night out if that keeps up.
I'm just thawing out now, slowly. Even Softlads super hot car wasn't doing the trick. Wouldn't mind but was warm (ish) whilst trudging - can't really call it a run can we!!!
I had a feeling it would be another marsden edale reminder and I wasn't wrong. I'm starting to get very allergic to snow and does anyone else have sore eyeballs from blinking in a blizzard all day and getting mini snowballs in them?! :(
Right I'm off for a well earned birthday drink! :)
I shall keep my eye out for it. Sounds like anyone other than very experienced Fell runners should stay clear and not be training up there.
What a way to spend your birthday, Emma - many happy returns! I bet you're glad to have had a man with all Ian's experience with you.
Good luck to all of you next week. I may well come out to see you on Saturday morning.
Have many drinks Em you deserve it.
My hands were too cold to take many pictures going up Bleaklow and down the other side, where the snow was incredible. I just didn't want to stop moving either.
Here's one though of the intrepid team that kind of sets the scene...

Good lord looks cold but fun so long as you didn't stay out too long.
