Mary, I'd be interested in this.
Is it full?
I've checked on the CFRA website and it doesn't say so.
They used to take entries on the day.
Cheers

Tim

Tim,
I'm not sure how strict it is, but as per Tuffer's post I think pre-entry has closed?
Not sure how things stand wrt subs, but if it's allowed and you're interested, I have an entry going spare.
If i wanted to do around 5 hours 30 mins does anyone have an idea as to where i should be at different times ? This would be much appreciated ta
You can check out the split times from last year's race here.
I've been looking and I can't see a thread for Wasdale only talk about shoes access substitutions and water. Have i missed it?
Well since DT has plenty of help with his day I've been co-opted in to doing it - Ta Nicky!!:sneaky:
Hoping for a bit of clag, but as long as we don't have a day like the OCT:mad: It was far too hot.
Looks like I'll get my wish, Not sure about the wind though:thunbdown:

There's a thread started by Jodg about water. I'd like to do this one but don't yet have an entry and no response yet from the organiser. I prefer this forecast to the weather last year.
I will be doing it on Saturday. Weather definitely looks better for me than last year but 60 mph gusts over Wind Gap could be "interesting" :w00t:
Am gonna be there.Looking forward to it
I see that the official Race Info omits checkpoint 7 at the wall crossing on the descent off Lingmell. Was this the case last year?
I emailed the race organiser about a week ago to ask about the missing checkpoint, but have got no reply as yet.
I'm in.:)
Weather aint looking to bad on metcheck,i trust them more than the MET office.

I am marshalling on Scafell Pike on Sat for a 3 peaks event, hopefully between lingmel col and the summit. Really looking forward to seeing the race go past, was so impressed last year, especially as some of those at the front end looked so fresh!!! Good luck to all who are taking part, hopefully i'll join you one year.
Richard Eastman has just replied to my email and confirmed that the Lingmell Nose checkpoint is still there, so no cutting down Brown Tongue!
He has updated the pdf on the CFRA website now too.

I guess a few people didn't turn up today given the conditions?
theNoor did the business today..survival of the fittest! Any runner who completed the course in those weather conditions deserves a medal!

certainly a grim weather day - tough going but what a spread of food at the end.

Lots of people with Wanderlust yesterday, I was passed three times by one runner. The thickest of hill fogs tested quite a few, Even the front runners and locals went to the wrong hill or missed the descents.
Surprisingly not that cold though even if it was miserable.
Not a good day for Pictures Wharfee, was that you taking pics on the run in after the wall.
well done to Ben and all who survived.
Thanks to Richard and his team esp those on the hill, (hope they didn't get lost coming off afterwards ;))
Nothing like a gentle introduction to long fell races. A grand day out. Many thanks to the checkpoint manners.
I wasn't running this time because I only got back from a trip away in the middle of last week and wasn't sure if I would be back in time so didn't enter - but I went for a little run close to home and it was horribly close and sticky and unpleasant, I wouldn't have enjoyed a six hour run in those conditions, hopefully it was cooler at height for everyone. Off to do a short race at Bampton this afternoon instead as a consolation. Sounds like it was an even harder than usual day for everyone yesterday though, well done all of you.
I was 134 I think came in around 42th? I as I ran down the last field I shouted to the photographer did you want an "air" shot and jumped of a rock!:o. I'm such a poser. Number won't have been showing as I had on a Black Kamalika smock
Forgot to say Thanks to Brotherton lad for the carshare, and for the company of Rudy H and Kat in the Hat (Hope the cuts are healing nicely) and for the food and drink from Turbo Tom and friend mid route. Lots of others there as well as those supporting Andy on his BG in the car Park.
well done the noor - i knew I should have picked you for my fantasy fellrunning cup play off!
anyone got any news on other runners - ie were nicky spinks and john hunt there ............... and did they enjoy good runs?
and well done to everyone who had a go. Remember 'Elvis Says'(on steve wright in the afternoon!) this is the hardest race...... and on a tough day I cant imagine where it registers.........
