Any Ponies besides myself likely to be at Rivi Pike on Saturday?
or is everybody clearing off to the Lakes?
Best of luck to all racing / drinking Ponies this weekend - will be doing my bit in the latter category tonight (blues band in the local pub!:D)
Oils, or a nice watercolour, or just a quick pencil sketch?
Wouldn't be like you, river dodger would it? :D
05/09/2009 13:00 Relay Cross Keys Relay, Uppermill....
Any Ponies fancy doing The Cross Keys Relay ?, two for the road section and two for the fell section....
MMM done whilst proudly sporting a pony vest!
A pony setting an 'unliveable with' pace somewhere well into the middle of the pack at the Anniversary Waltz yesterday :D

Couple of photos. The last one in which i look really un happy is because i was trying to eat a filthy mars bar and run!
A great weekend at the Anni Waltz. Some good battles in the race between Ponies, led by AK v Dale, with AK cunningly getting ahead by using his many, many years of experience to avoid the starting crush before Dale's younger (much) legs won the day. Me v Tussockface which ended with a sprint finish (well that;s what it seemed like to me), that had the crowd on it's feet (or were they merely on their way to get the free beer?) I remember passing TF going up Robinson but then he mysteriously appeared ahead of me near Catbells. (How on earth did you do that?) Amex and Hanneke (oh me quads are sore) with Stolly, Merrylegs and Hopalong Emmi somewhere in between.
The night in the George was just as good when we were joined by the wounded Daz (good to hear his watch was found) and Dale's better half, Denise. I was most impressed by Emmilou's ability at quaffing large quantities of Snecklifter.
It was also a good day on Sunday on the Coledale Horseshoe, well apart from Hanneke still whingeing about her sore quads;):D
So nobody see the Pony flag flying proudly from the summit of Robinson? All that effort wasted. Looked quite good as well. I think Dave Fowlup's got a pic somewhere.
Those new vests look great. We could see Amex crawling up High Spy from the summit of Dalehead! Well done all the running Ponies.
Snecklifter makes a mess of me (i like it too much!). Looks a nice race. Well done all. Did anyone talk to the Manx lad?
Yep saw it too...was blowing like a shiny beacon thing guiding me to that much needed drink that Al had stashed in his bag!!
Didn't see a manx lad, was chocker block there to be honest was impossible to keep up with who was there and who wasn't and yes Snecklifter is lovely! :D Pity the fool that tries to keep up...that's one race I won't come last in!!!
A challenge?
Ohhh, can I join in? Snecklifter's great on my cornflakes :D
I brought some Snecklifter home...
And my quads are still bl**dy sore, even after a decent bike ride today :(
But it was a brilliant weekend... Great company... Possibly the slowest I have ever run, let alone raced, but am glad I did it... Mind you, lesson learnt: don't count on cycling fitness alone for an 11 mile fell race... Unless you want your quads to hurt like hell for days afterwards, even after copious quantities of local ale to try and numb te pain! :D
And of course I spotted the Fell Pony flag! I even got my camera out to take a picture of it, then for some reason I didn't...
I was wearing it, where were your eyes? :D
Great to hear grand tales of success from the Anni Waltz !
sounds like the Ponies would definitely've been in with a chance of the team prize for beer drinking!
Al's pic of the Fell Ponies flag flying proudly on Robinson made my heart soar :D
5 Ponies in the results, plus a few "incognito" ones to boot!
2 Ponies in the results at Rivi Pike - myself and one mysterious other...
nice to meet Derby Tup, who said he had a Ponies vest, but was atrociously attired in the colours of a "proper" club
who fancies a game of "Where's Wally"? - or in this case "Where's Daz"?:

Thats a great photo.
hey, I'm not that mysterious, I came all the way to Rivi Pike from Shropshire - via Stockport slightly late, stressed & in a bit of a hurry, and no vest :( . Shame, as I don't get to the north too often. 'Tis a tidy little run though, reminded me of the Wrekin 'cept we dont have the cobbled path..See the Ponies didnt win team prize then :D
That photo really captures the feel of Rivi Pike well:) I can see DTS and I'm a few places ahead in 'atrocious' club vest. alanj must be round and about too as he finished one place after me
Any of you Ponies doing the K Downfall?? May dust down the pink vest for this one...;)
