No it's not, I've just getting back from an injury, yesterday was my first proper run for over a week. Feeling strong today. I'll probably do the Warts race Sunday as my final push before tanky's and then ease back. I won't be there Monday so you won't have to keep looking over your shoulder:p:o:D
Details here Jan.
Good fast racing, it's the winter equivalant of the summer series. Short Hilly road races/training staggered start and self timed.
and any one can win, points based on percentage of winners time with bonuses for beating your last performance.
I can reccommend it:D
Crumbs! I clean forgot about that site and all those races! Doh!
1:40 up Pendle, sort of back half of TOP plus a bit more. Came off in darkness without headtorch. Climbed like I couldn't be arsed
Hill session tonight.
1:00:24hr total. Climbed Alphin from road to approx 400 mtrs beyond Trig Point at 90+% of Max HR in 12 mins....very slippy underfoot/couple of tumbles.
Easy paced descent of Alphin and then tempo pace along lane past houses and up into Plantation.....Recovery pace to finish/cool down...
Good session :)
When I've switched this computer off ham going to run home.........as fast as I can.
Goodnight
4 hilly road miles.
Spinning session in the gym for 35 minutes at lunchtime. Average heart rate of 145 and max of 180 on a ridiculous 3 stage climbing session.
6 miles road in the dark after work. Boring.
30mins easy, just tapering down a little before Liverpool. Had forgotten how wet it gets back up North, esp in Witton Park!!! Got a massage from Mark Aspin as well this evening. Felt good as I haven't had one since the week before the Worlds!
Only time (and energy) for a bit of a gym session with a mate. 15 mins on the tread mill, loath it but its good for a simple speed session or strides. Then half an hour of weights. Coffee and putting the world to rights.:)
4m to work, 4m home, workmate offered me a lift as he was scraping the frost of his car, i laughed and said no, in shorts, little does he know i could have carried on all night, felt good, but i'll save the distance work till weekend;)
usualy boring 6 mile road run
not been out yet, It's suppose to be my rest day or go swimming but the weather is stunning. errrm
Short run imminent
Short sharp run, 8k distance, 230m ascent, up as far as Leg 5 of Pennine Bridleway Relay route and back.
16 miles, 2750ft'ish ascent out on Kinder
Fell Runnings bloody great
limited training this week had a cold but never really developed.
Tuesday-easy 9 miles.
Wednesday - different type of interval session-street o around Preston. Did about 8 miles. Running partner was running too fast for me, also quite hard try to run quick and navigate on a map with just black lines for roads.
Hopefully getting out on fells sat and sun:D
Sunrise run - The Chew..
Set off with headtorch on through Tanners, along road to Dovs Res (res partially iced over and mist covering the whole of the res), around res and caught sunrise as I traversed under Dovestones Quarries...Higher level contour under Duckstones to Charnel Stones, descent to Chew Res track bridge....path through Plantation back to Greenfield. 1:24:30hr (Recovery pace, HR below 70% of Max HRR).
Beautiful morning, saw one walker as I set off, apart from that me and Tilly (my Staffie) had the valley to ourselves - Excellent :)
6.5 x 1000 mixed pace run on/off road
7 ish miles with PACMAN over the west Pennine moors reccing the Great Hill route for the handicap race next weekend.
Really nice run, we where above the mist so it was quite warm when we set off, alot of the ground was frozen and you had to be abit weary of ice-patches and going over stiles.
As we came into lower ground we came into the cloud again - the dampness and cold hit you instantly.
Really enjoyable run, and the cloud over in the distance where amazing (ive forgotten what its called).
Thanks alot for the like Pete!:)
Usual hour out with 3 x steep climbs on hilly roads. Plan a first light recce of Bleaklow leg of Tanky's Sunday. :D
10.09 miles/1743ft. Cold and foggy but clear as a bell on the tops. Usual dip in river at the end:eek:
Running a leg of the Calderdale way tomoz with the Crumblydown's:cool:
Leg 3 of Calderdale Relay and back..once above the fog I could see over to Stoodley Pike but the Calder Valley looked like it was full of cotton wool.
4.5 miles on the Roaches. First time out on the hills since my fall - went back to have a look at where I took the tumble.
Magic. Sunshine along the ridge, and seas of fog in the valleys.
Great day on Pendle today, clear, sunny, frosty, no winds, no clag.
7 miles this morning, 5 miles this afternoon. Total climbing 3,500 feet. Great views to the snowy tops of the Three Peaks and The Lakes. Just thawing out !!!!
A leisurely 11.75 miles (1hr 49) from home including most of the Calverley Millenium Way in the fog though cleared for a while on the 'top':D that is Woodhall Hills road crossing. Just about got away with trail shoes on the muddier sections.
30 minutes in Florence this morning. Not seen much of the city. Seen a big river. Weather as bad as at home but not as cold. 10oc. Marathon tomorrow morning at 9.20am. My number is eitgher 25 or 9 (Dont ask) and if you have nothing to do you can check my progress every 5k on www.tds-live.com
That could be the kiss of death now I posted a link to live updates. Setting off at 3.12 min per k. You do the maths, but it equals a 2.14.30ish!!!
Here goes nothing!
leg four of the calderdale way, lovley day
