bloody litter louts !!!
Great day out :) Thanks to all the marshalls, organisers & the cake chefs :D And a huge thankyou to the DP runner who led me through the peat groughs round the woolpacks. Didn't look anything like my 2 epic snowy reccys
Can't say I enjoyed much of the race but guess that means I was trying hard. Struggled with cramp in my toes on the 2nd half & wheels really started to come off after GK. Chuffed to knock 20mins off 08 time & make a sub 4 so pain all worth while in the end :D
Lack of training over the past few months and not getting out into the fells since November, led me not to expect much yesterday. Very happy with a time 10 minutes better than 2008. Took it steady to Mam Nick and then used some 'unconventional' routes as I found running on the harder paths far better for me than using the short cuts.
Big thanks to the organisers and the marshals for their efforts and support.
Morning all, how's everyone feeling today? My feet are sore, sore, sore! :(
A big thankyou to all at the club who helped to organise the race.
After several years of trying to run this race I finally made it and I had a fabulous day out. :D The second section was nowhere near as bad underfoot as had been made out though, just a bit mucky in parts but OK running.
Great to catch up with some forumites as well of course.
Did see someone getting stretchered off at the end - I take it the lady was one of the runners. Looked serious, hope she recovers quickly.
