Mrs. Merrylegs is up for another caravan jaunt to the Lakes:)
Leg 2,3, or 4 for me, or even 2 legs, or i'll just fit in with everyone else just to make it confusing, just want to get back up them fells. Coledale Horseshoe on Saturday courtesy of Amex, Happy Days and cool as feck:cool:
Put me down for a couple of legs.
Any leg anytime.
Could be the same weekend as the Kentmere Horseshoe
So it was you then!
Watched the video on the Manx Athletics site and thought, "I'm sure that's a bloody Pony vest... but I'm the only Pony entered according to the start list!".;)
Fantastic day and I'll be back for more. 8.45 was a bit pants but I'm pleased enough with that and I'd have been satisfied with anything under 10 hours... next time nearer eight.
Did you manage to get your t-shirt Steve?
I had to dart off with the family so didn't pick up that or the certificate... not the end of the world, but I'd be pleased with them. I've e-mailed via the website, so fingers crossed. Well chuffed to have done it.
As for this proposed relay BG, I am keen... count me in. Have to check out the home front, but it could well be a goer.
Wensleydale Tri is that weekend in August, but that's not compulsory... BG experience is.
The July alternative may be feasible as well. I'm up for any of it... supporting Donkarlo at the end of June (maybe Legs 3 & 4), but need to get the miles and climbing in. Will probably have to do it in a day, rather than join the Pony fest.
Em, has Dave turned up? Chances are he'll be fine... they're generally pretty resilient and the weather's not Scandanavian any more. You've done the right thing contacting all likely ports of call, though it must be awful having to hang around waiting for a phone call.
Leg 1 for me clockwise please, just love that slog up the mungrisdale climb ;), supported a mate last year and followed a great descent down the east side of Middle Tongue into Gate Gill, shins shredded by the heather but certainly better than the upper reaches of Halls Fell in the dark...
Is this a fell ponies only thing or is it open to anyone. Im looking for a bit of Bob Graham experience in time for my 18th.
Great news about Dave emmi
[QUOTE=FellMonster;215008]I expect you will be welcomed with open arms. Hope you're thick skinned though with some of the banter you will endure
Ah well thats fine im used to it at my own club. I know Alphin and Fleeter (although he now runs for calder valley) so its not like i wouldnt know anyone.
Hiya LR! Shame we didn't meet and greet. Did you do the early start? Glad you enjoyed it, my Island is very nice!
Just Called in at Tom Cringles ( MFR comittee member and all round top bloke ) house on my way home from tonights run. He says T shirts and certificates will be/have been posted out and should be with us any day now.
Very glad to hear the news about Dave! He will be having steak tonight?
Youd be very welcome Tom....there is no such thing as a "Fell Ponies only thing" as there are no ctiteria for membership....the vests are optional....if you were to simply turn up that makes you as much as a Pony as the other Ponies....it means nothing....and everything.....and less....Fleeter gets it...ask him to explain....but there isnt an explanation...
Hope this makes sense:cool:
I already run for saddleworth like fleeter did but i do fancy a pink vest
What's all this? Tonights Plumbing?
Hmmm, I have the Welsh Women's champs on te 19th July, so it is going to be a bit of a push for me... :(
I have races on the 7th and 9th of August as well though...
Glad Dave turned up... Must be a big relief and a good advert for microchips. He was heard to say,
"Well yer know how it is, one minute yer eating sheep turds and sniffing about and the next, it's bloody well gone dark!"
Steve, I love the IoM... lived there for four years and my wife's Manx, so we're over three or four times a year (especially as her sister has now moved back). I did Narradale last year and enjoyed it despite coming a long way down and getting lost. Are there plans to repeat it this year? ...I can't see it on the website
I haven't done Narradale yet myself. Every other year races change. Narradale will be on next year!
