46:34mins, Plantation area The Chew, easy paced night run, great :)
Spent ages on my wobble board trying to do something with my sore ankle, slapped a it of ice on it for a while and then thought about going for a gentle trot for a short while. After 5 mins on tarmac I thought a bit of fell might be good; just so long as I went slow and really concentrated. Before I knew it I was at the top of Weets. A few minor twinges from the ankle but generally it was feeling fine. Once I'd finished I iced it again and it feels much better. 52 mins
Steady away. Might be able to do the Rossendale on Saturday.:)
An hour and a bit nosing around Eyam moor area, compact but pleasant enough!!
Part of a new policy to not run in the same area twice in one off shift
50 mins hilly road route last night..steady all the way
80 mins bike ride today
5.5 miles this morning on't roads :)
4.57 miles easy miles this morning, nice loosener for tonight's club session.
Still pondering whether to go out on bike this afternoon or do some core stability exercises.
Running Hill Lane - Running Hill Pits - Broadstone Trig (Sykes Pillar) - Slades Rocks - Alderman - descent via disused barn and back home....43:34mins (HR kept below 70% of max HRR).....Great run, blustery up top, naye one around had the place to me'self, sweet indeed :)
5 miles of tarmac this morning. Left calf felt odd hence only the 5. Myo XP tommoz.
From last night
Club session on grass at Earlham School
8 minutes (2 minutes jog back to start recovery)

As usual very slow to start with, almost to the point of being annoying now !!
Ran to and from session
had planned a nice run down the border ridge from windy gyle to the street, but my eldest decided to have boy flu instead and be off school. pah and its blue sky weather with snow on the tops....
Cycle commute to work today 10 mile each way
only got 200m this morning before flying off on black ice :(:(...it hurt. therefore took it steady rest of way. good job as half way to work some D***head in a porsche decided to pull out in front of me...panic...and then stop
this time i felt pain in my throat after screaming expletives, general abusive comments about his parentage and desciptive insults, where i likened him to a slang word (not to be repeated here) for the female genetalia...... he decided not to comment
i am therefore of the opinion that even with the risk of falling/injury etc that no matter how careful one is, running is much safer.
It's always the ringends in cars that worry me. Why do they have to overtake cyclists on blind bends?
14.58 miles running this morning and 13.19 miles on mountain bike this afternoon
A nice easy 5.4 miles this morning.
Headtorch run on foreign soil last night and 60 odd miles on the push iron this morning at quite a brisk pace (well 18.5 av).
Bailed out of tonight's track session after just 2 x 400m :(
Just under 4 miles tonight first time of being able to run this week due illness and work commitments.
Feeling a lot better for 12.15 miles at an easyish pace this morning :)
4m to work, then resisting the call of the pub, 9.44m/1944ft in 1h48m, very wet and windy on the tops, glad to drop back down into the valley.
First run for a few days due to illness. Nearly bottled it and went to the gym but Chariots of Fire was on the idiot lantern. That somehow inspired me to get my waterproofs on and trudge up Weets, even did an extra climb on the top bit, although at a very steady pace. Out for an hour. Can't believe how much water is out there, was a bit windy too. Enjoyed it though. Straight into a hot bath. Feel a bit washed out now but should manage the cross country at Marl Pits tomorrow. :D
6.4 mile in the mud on Pex Hill with Tryfan this afternoon. Felt it a bit today.
Hour run out last night in the rain followed by Ram Tam and chips in New Inn, Cononley
8m incorporating part of Leg 5 of PBW relay route. Nice and steady ready for longer run tomorrow.
no run for 4 days! it was driving me mad. Up very early this morning for drizzly twilight run only 5 miles but feel better for it, might go for a longer one tonight when the rest of the family goes to a Panto.
A six hour meander back from Sheringham having bused out there from Norwich.
Yesterday
Had a descent run out a Marl Pits. Wanted a steady run and started near the back, I'm never doing that again. I've tried it a few times if I've been off colour but all that happens is that I end up wasting energy getting past people once my competitive juices have kicked in. Got a bit wound up (unnecessarily) with one or two pushing and elbowing, all good for getting the bit between the teeth. Finished in 39 mins dead and loved it. Think I'm over my cold and can start looking forward to the Ribble 10k. Any inclination to do the Stoop have been halted by slightly stiff legs and the pretty miserable looking weather.:D
Just 2.57 miles this morning, as near as a rest as I'll allowing myself for the rest of the year.
Just an hour out and very steady. My dodgy ankle felt sore, I think it is inflamed. Going to try and see a physio this week but icing for now.
3hree mile walk to get me van off the pub car park this morning, Gawd .......hungover all day ....I aint never drinking again..........
4.2 mile road run yesterday. Was gonna do the Stoops fell race today but have been feeling under the weather yet again today this bloody bug/virus thats doing the rounds.
christmas handicap at the club think it was about 3 miles :)
Brisk 5 miles, well brisk for me at least 36 minutes.
An hour down the gym this morning. Half cardiovascular training and half a strength circuit. Going to try and wedge a run in this evening if I can get the christmas shopping done in time.:)
CycloX race yesterday, where i and the rest of the field were literally blown away by Rob Jebb.
short road run tonight as a christmas get-together
A trip up the Dales this morning. Only a 50 minute drive to Horton and then off up Pen-Y-Ghent in the clag with one of the locals. Over to Plover still in the clag before dropping down onto the track heading back to Horton. By this time the sun had broken through allowing fine views over to Ingleborough. I decided to re-visit the summit seeing as I could see it this time round and left Stolly (Mr Pen-Y-Ghent!) to head back down the stony track into the village. Quite a few walkers ambling about on the way back up via the race route and with the sun on my back I had to resist the urge to run bare chested. The views from the top were actually available this time round and continued to be so as I bimbled down to Brackenbottom. Finished with a good soak in the stream near the school, was almost like a summers day (well, maybe spring). Just shy of 2 hours out on my trotters.
Three and half miles this afternoon at a bit slower pace than first run.
20mins warm up, 20 mins temp and 10 mins cool down, night run in the mist, The Chew.....easier to run without the headtorch due to the mist.....Polar HR monitor went nuts, hopping between 00 reading and 228 Hr!!!! Service time me'thinks...
Mini speed session of 40mins. 5 x longer hill reps then 5 x shorter. Nice & warm out! :)
