I posted mine after work on Monday and received an e-mail on Wednesday saying I'd got a place (was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of snail mail).
Never entered before so don't know what happens if unsuccessful. Fingers crossed.
I was running over the middle section of the route the other day, with some club mates who are doing it for the 1st time. It was very boggy on top of Great Punchard heading toward level house, this bit never seems to dry out :p We were in the clag big time and it can be a confusing section of the route up there. I know it inside out but the people I was with would have had no clue as too were to go. Although the chances are it'll be clear on the day, I'd reccomend people reccie the middle section, as thats were the potential for nav issues could arise.
We left a car at Langthwaite in Arkengarthdale and a car at Surrender bridge on the road to Low Row from Arkengarthdale, this allowed us to run about 16 hard mile of the route. Grand few hours out, the descent into Gunnerside from near the top of the Gill is one of my fav stretches of running anywhere, the climb out of Gunnerside maybe the worst bit  !
Had a trot round the full route today, 3hr 45 leisurely minutes  great conditions, a lot of the bog is drying out, fast going virtually throughout. Got a couple of route choices nailed too, which should save me a few minutes in total :)
plenty good pubs around Jez :)have you ran round Swaledale before?
Aye, last year. I was entered, but had gastroenteritis & had to pull out. I had a room booked at a b & b so still went up & ran up around Fremington Edge. It's a stunning area. My folks used to have a place at Low Row too. But that was back in the day when I was just interested in drinking as opposed to running & drinking.
I'm entered for this but unable to run due to injury
I don't know what the process is for swapping entrants (if allowed) but if you're interested in a place let me know
I hate to ask the dreaded question, but here goes........which shoes should I wear ? Roclite, X-Talon or Saucony Peregrine ?
I have a number for the event but am unable to attend .... please pm me if anyone needs the entry
