why are you all whingeing about cost ?if you think its not worth it dont do it ! simply !
Whinging makes the world go round HJ.
Less money to spend in fort bill on the piss on saturday night.
2 pints down on last years entry fee :p
Anyway, getting back to the race.
I've entered, and i hope i get in, cracking race and fantastic atmosphere.
Hope to see you there HJ, then i can poke you in the eye. lol
That's if i get in. Lol:p
The list is up...........
oh... I'm not in :(
Is there a reserve list?
We got in, but some friends entered last week and didn't make it in.
:(
just spotted this
The Secretary will place on the website the provisional listing of accepted runners, if you are not on this list, and have not had your entry form returned, you are on the waiting list. No information on an individuals position on the waiting list will be given out.
Just have to hope my entry doesn't come back in the post this week
:)
.
Phew.....
IM IN!
So who got in and who is disapointed ?
I am in! My aim this year is to race the Ben, Snowdon & Scafell Pike, so that's the first step.
Pleased
Jason
As Deeko said - I'm on the waiting list. I'm pretty hopeful I'll still get a run, but if not it'll be a chance to do the race at the Braemar Games.
My own theory is that they waited a couple of days then opened all the entries and picked the first 500 odd from the pile on the floor.
There's still time, my other option is to pretend to be a skyrunner....
it'dd be easier if they just went online, like 3 peaks and Carnethy, that way you know if you are in straight away.
In, might actually be able to run it this year.
I think most well get in off the list. It's a long way away. In some of the ultra's if you drop out you get a gaurenteed entry for next years race, so it encourages people to inform the organiser, so the entry can be passed on. I think that's a good way of organising it.
Injury, work and family commitments. Places will come. I have to work in the states 3 months a year, yet don't know until a month before when I'm going, so I could yet have to miss this one, however this is one date I'm really keen to keep free having missed a run last year. I entered Noonstone then the next day found out I have to be in the states and then had to email to cancel my entry. It's just unavoidable. I can't not enter any races all year just in case many others will have similar situations.
Hi
Just got an email back from the race secretary around me wanting to go on resereve list. He said not to bother - its already at 197. Thats me out. maybe I'll sit in the park and have an ice cream
Um....not in either :-( not sure how I'm not, as sent my entry form off the day the forms came out....everyone must have hand delivered them!!!!!!!!
feeling a bit guilty as some "old hands" not got places , but , I'm in .:)
I think the organisers made it clear on the website that hand delivered entries would not be accepted - it did cross my mind to try but a 500 mile round trip was a bit extreme.
Its great that the race is so popular and well supported, such a shame that it also means not everyone gets to run. I was one of the lucky ones, I hope those of you on the waiting list manage to get a place in due course and that anyone who has an entry and no longer wants to race lets the organisers know.
The Scotts are on to you RW:eek:. They won't let you in the Ben, and Mrs RW can't do Carnethy.
I'm in ~ so my bi-annual trip to fort Bill is on.
Whilst typing, does anyone know where that framed aerial photograph of ''the Cuillins at 15000ft'' went to that was hung on the wall in the Nevis Bar? It used to be on the left wall as you entered the pub and it dissappeared a year or two ago when they refurbed. It was only a small picture but I'd pay a price for it if anyone could get it for me ??
Just resurrecting the thread.
Hope the training is going well :)
Good luck when the time comes it is one of those to do races.
Ho-ho !!!!!!
it looks like the mt elbrus race is now online http://www.elbrus.redfox.ru/english/zayavka/ - don't see anything about a club tho
Has anybody that didn't get a place in round 1 (nor the entry returned) found out yet if they're been promoted from the reserve list??
Has anybody received their race card in the post yet? I'm getting rather excited about the Ben now...
Race cards dont usually appear until well in to August - once they go out I dont think they will accept any more changes so for anyone on the reserve list the later these go out the better.
