Snowdon update: - Change of date for this years Snowdon Race it is now going to be 18 July 2009 a week earlier.
All being well the new website is going to launch this week and race forms will be available from it.
Regsistration for 2009 race is now open, see:
http://www.snowdonrace.com/
How fast does this fill up?
Normally not too quickly, certainly not like the Ben.
Interesting that they've done away with the race experience section, opens up the race a bit more to new comers and locals without running experience.
Before you had to list the races you'd done and they were quite strict. I know of a good few people, some quite experienced who had entries rejected or at least queried.
It says on the entry form that there is a back to it, however there isn't.....
I am going to include a seperate sheet just incase.
Here's hoping!!
I'm well dissapointed. The form says no fancy dress.
This is one race I've got my eye on to get rid of the demons of 2 years ago. I still had coniston country fair in my legs which caused great pain on the descent and was significantly slower than I should ever have been.
Rules & regs are here:

Just popped my entry in the post. Can't afford to miss a good night out in Llanberis :)
It's a shame that it clashes with Ingleborough this year though.
Has anyone had their entries confirmed yet? The last couple of years, you'd get an email pretty much the day after sending the form off. I sent mine off the day after the forms were available this but haven't heard anything yet - I'm starting to think it's been lost in the post.
I sent my entry off a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything. Not worried yet though....

click on link above, entries to date are there...
This is what happens when you scrap the 'experience' requirement

The date has been moved forward to 18th July as it will not clash with Italian Championships. Same time, same location but date is different.......
NEW Category - Prize
There will be an new category this year, within the prizes, there will be an Ascent Category (Decsent would be to dangerous with health & saftey). First man, women to the summit. Could anyone beat the 1985 summit record of 39min 47 sec held by Robin Bryson.
Television Coverage
Yet again, the 2009 race will be televised.

No spiderman, Batman, Bananaman not all all.......STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. NO Fancy dress.

Reason we've taken it off the applicxation form, because of the amount of time we took to look into results from other races and make sure that the correct information was correct.
BUT as stated within the rules and regulations - must be experienced, and compete in races leading up to Snowdon Race
Cheers

Its a great day out and fantastic atmosphere, large crowds. Ive raced, well ran the race, a few times best time 1hr 49mins and although Im one of the organisers I'll be trying my best yet again this year and hopefully it will not be as warm as last year.
