I may need to cut my hair first, it is growing very, very big :w00t: - wind resistance etc.

A real good 6 days of cycling in this cracking weather 155miles covered and two 3 mile runs over 8 days. Inspired to keep cycling to work. Sounds as if the winter clothes will be back on next week
took my grandson to cogset today at Salt Ayre in Lancaster and there were crits on afterwards and the organiser persuaded me to have a go at the Tuesday night crits starting on 10th April. I have just applied for my BCF licence!!
what the hell am I doing?? I will stand no chance!!
apart from setting a new record for being lapped on the earliest lap ever.
better get some training in
I managed to ride my bike today... almost 5 hours, nearly 100 miles :w00t:
Blooming eck good effort hann - 30 mile club ride for me yesterday - trying really hard :w00t:
Go geronimo! you'll be fine!
Well, I cycled from Meanwood to Skipton, ran to White Wells then down to Ilkley, hopped on a bus to Skipton and cycled home to Leeds. I should have saved the bus fare of £2.50 and run back to Skipton, it's complicated :)
I did Moley :)
Went MTB-ing today, good 50 kms, took about 6 hours, 3hrs 38 riding time, including a lunch stop and several other types of stops along the way, to look at the map to find bridleways, remove boulders from an otherwsie rideable descent, to look at the ponies, take endless photographs, to show lost walkers the way and to sit in the pub 1 km from home at the end, with a pint and some crisps :) All in glorious sunshine! :)
Hey, good point! Well, I managed to transform the disaster of misjudging how long it would take me to cycle to the Baildon Boundary Run, and would have had no time to sort out safety pins, change of shoes, usually faffing, and it was looking too tight, as I approached Shipley on the towpath. So I decided to carry on along the towpath to Skipton and run from there to Ilkley etc... And as I was fed up at missing Baildon, it was sweet as the bike ride and then the run across the Parson's Allotment (or something like that) to Ilkley was heaven and more than made up for missing Baildon. I haven't really run for 3 weeks so it was grand. I left my pannier in a shop which shut at 4.30 pm so had to hop on a bus - would preferred to have run back... Bus driver stopped as I ran in front of his bus and accepted a tenner - very impressed! What a great day :)
Thanks WD, yes, it was in my mind to start a thread "Today's disaster" however that will wait for another day :)
missed my club ride Saturday a.m. by turning up 5 mins late, so went on a solo ride round north Kent.
115km @ 27.8km
Commuted my 28k to work this morning on the bike and have never laughed so much.
Got Causey Pike quads from Saturday, so everytime I put an effort in like at lights or on small inclines I just had to laugh. The burning pain made it a strange ride.
PS
I have to do the same home and there is 200m more climb on the way back:thumbup:
Rode to work short summer route, 14km road.
Long route 18km is much nicer but I was time pressed.
After swimming and large breakfast (half colomba with milk, yogurt, coffee).
I know the feeling Stagger :)
My legs were very amusing at first in Sundays ride, after saturdays hard ride :)
Back now after the steadiest 28k ride I have every done.
No pain no gain. Going to have a jog in the morning and either ride or rollers in afternoon. (snow forecast)
Snow you are saying? Think I shall dust my skates off ;)
I've had a top week cycling, making my total for the week about 135mi. Legs really tired after yesterdays 28mi with some bloody big hills. Thighs felt like lead first thing, so went up the valley & back. Given heavy snow sometime tomorrow night/wednesday morning, so doubt I'll be out. I was just getting some good cycling tan lines too
Double spin last night: a steady but hour at 85% MHR; then anaerobic intervals (5-minute intervals building up to 90-2% MHR - or higher - for last 2 mins; 90 seconds recovery).
30 minutes easy last night in zone 1
30 minutes moderate this morning in zone 3
Just watching the snow falling out of the window. Thank goodness for rollers.
Hmmm, with the amount of snow we are having, I have two options: power work on the turbo tonight, or testing my MTB tyres in the snow... as the cloud is so low I can't actually see the hill right now, I reckon it will be turbo :(
I think your right Han with the Turbo.
BUT
Its brightening here now, the snow has stopped and I can bearly look out of the window due to the intense brightness.
A steady 3mile run at teatime but I will need sunglasses.
PS Last week we had a BBQ at this time in shorts and a vest.

It has been either smnowing or sleeting all day, so things aren't looking good for riding outside! Really cold as well :(
double spin for me this eve, though I just nearly fell asleep at my desk ...
ooh ooh - surprise tax rebate (2005/2006) came through - so i bought some swanky kysirium wheels :woot: - setting off for 2 weeks in france today in the van with the baby (eek and yay!) - heading down to provence!!
killer double spin last night: sprint intervals followed by anaerobic intervals.
Had real trouble gettign up of the sofa at 11pm when I went to bed ...
Well done Vicki P
Great come back after crash

15 miles in exactly an hour. Not really been out on the bike in the past year, so that wasn't a bad start. Used the MTB today, might do the same route tomorrow on the roadie and see what the difference is.
I was quite chuffed today, I put batteries in the bike computer thingy (which hasn't worked yet), and did 15 miles in a few minutes under the hour - on my road bike . Dom, please send me some of your "gofaster" drugs!!!
Been re-cuperating with mixture of beer, wine and ouzo, is that ok?
Big Tom !!!
Easter has always been the beginning prime cycling time.
100km this morning. Pleasure every minute of it but as expected, I struggled badly, longest ride of the season was 50km, and that was yesterday...
Got to get some cycling fitness. Not sure how to get it with family, job, house, garden, allottment, swimming, running....
Very damp & misty in the Ribble Valley today - got the stead all wet & dirty. Just a little 42 mile loop with slightly surreal stop off near Whitewell. Vintage Champagne not quite the same as PSP 22.............
Was camping in north Norfolk over the Easter weekend and rented a couple of bikes from our campsite at Burnham Deepdale: 24-miles out and back to Binham via Burnham Market, Wighton and Walsingham.
Amazing cycling territory out there - the roads are the quietest I've seen in the country by a longshot, maybe anywhere in the world.
And pretty flat too so great for clocking up lots of high-tempo miles. My sort of cycling that, not that keen on big hills.
(Although the girlfriend - who is not a cyclist at all - was a bit miffed at a) the distance and b) me calling it flat as a pancake.)
