Merry Christmas y'all! :):D
Managed to get an hour in today. Up Weets, dropped off for a steep descent and climb, just steady away, 1200" of climb not many miles really. Still got a sore foot, going to have to get a physio to look at it. Later got a few hours walking in the summer sunshine with the family. :)
Nothing for the last few days, and much reduced over the last week due to festive season......so today's club (social) handicap blast over 4.5 miles of trail running should be just the ticket :D
back in to it from tomorrow ;)
Out for a gentle run today after yesterdays session-from my house up through ashworth valley to belmont road. Then up the ramp to winter hill summit and join the short belmont race route to georges lane. Round to the Pike and then a bit of a slog across the moor to the trig point again, before dropping back down to my house via asworth valley again.
Longest run in weeks (13 miles ish?) and today im bloody knackered-no IT band probs though,so im a happy man!:)
Great news Baz - see you on the hill sometime soon then.... plod out with my neigbour at half 1 today...tried to convince her to do the off road route I do round here but asked her as was bashing the mud off the trainers from yesterday she vehemently declined.....some people...no idea what they are missin....tarmac it is then :(
40 min plod yesterday.. :)
5m run/walk with Mini-Merry up and around Norland Moor with headtorches, beat me in a sprint finish, pint of Ribena for him, glass of wine for me, everyone's a winner:cool:
Got him some new Walshes today so his old one's have been handed down to his sister, who's spent half an hour cleaning them in the sink. She's gonna show us how to look after shoes later:eek: Girls eh:rolleyes:
A short 3 mile road run this morning by eck it was chilly.
Club session at Colney Lane

VERY steady 5.5.miles spent the duration prattling on at 100 miles an hour while my friend tried to draw breath!
The yearly social run around the Bradfield Parish Boundary the biggest in the country.
Approx 48 miles-5000ft in 11.45
Joined by another 19 finishers inc 4 ladies from Dark Peak, Penistone and one from Totley plus a few others who joined midway whose company was much appreciated.:)
A classic run with near prefect conditions light cold winds and no rain:D
Followed by a beer and thai soup in the organisers house after. Perfect.
Time for a bath now.:o
6.5 miles this afternoon over hobson moor
twas horrible :o
6x6 minute efforts, 4 x 40 seconds efforts 45 seconds recovry in between.. 2 mile warm up and it should have been a 2 mile cool down....
sat with a wisky recovering!:D
Hi Andi
It is long but run at a steady pace around 4 mph. Excellent long training for prespective BGers, best of all we bloodied a few ultra novices today.:D
Well done to Willy who hung on to the front group all the way, he's only been running 18 months I think and his longest run to date was 19 miles:eek: he was smiling as he hobbled to the car but I think we may have broken him:o
He'll be a very sore Willy in the morning ;)
Very kind of you :p
11hrs 45mins, that is quite a painfull time for me to hear. As its exactly how long I spent on the same day at work bored out of my mind in a cold and badly lit warehouse:mad:
Sounds and looks like and ace run tho Ian, very much one of my targets for 2009 :-)
Along with perhaps drinking slightly less Gin ;-)
5 miles today round the festive 5 race at wythenshawe park ;)
well done everyone that raced :)
8am social run, start at Crowden cp, up the PW to Black Hill. Back via Tanky's route. Sunshine, icy underfoot and nippy out. Cracking run gromit! :D
Nice run from home, up Alphin, across the top to top reser, down steep hill and through plantation. Back up Alphin the other way and down to Carrbrook. Had to put a small lap on it as well to make it just 90 minutes. Freezing on the tops in the strong wind.
Total of 8.79 miles taking in the NOR 60 minute score event (orienteering)
Two and half hours on Ilkley Moor with g/f including a decent chunk of the Rombald's Stride route. Finished off by climbing Keighley Gate from Ilkley side
20 mins warm up then 38 06 mins running flat out on the Ribble 10k. Hurt a lot and showed up my lack of speed and excess body weight. Feel a new years resolution coming on!:)
1:03:16hr..Alphin to Wimberry...Set off just as the sun was setting, mega colours....From Alphin to Wimberry was amazing, running into the night yet the ground being back lit from the fading light behind me to the west...North easterly bringing in the chill at speed, headtorch on at Wimberry, descent to Plantation and back home for a fine Pinot Grigrio :)..Great run :)
Sounds like you're back on form Phil. Was sharp out, wasn't it? Woods Navy rum & coke for me tonight!
Cup of tea here
!!! :D
"Hoping for a far more successful 2009"? Not half! :)
45 mins from home -first run in the Kanadias.
Can't be worse tbh jodg ;)
A fairly brisk 4.36 miles this morning.
10K flat-ish this morning on forest trails with doggy
kept HR to less than 80% max in general so as to kick start the removal of beer that has accumulated in the body over the festive period :D
18.61m/3350ft 3h36m28s.
Picked Calderdale way up in Ripponden and followed it to Lumbutts, going astray down into Cragg Vale, where i said hi to Clash City Rocker and mate on MTB's.
From Lumbutts, back along London Road then up to Stoodley Pike and down to Withens Clough and back home the same way. Chilly on the tops, but clear views all round. Took it steady on the way out then hammered it from Soyland Town to Ripponden.
1m cool down with kids, bath now:)
Nowt so epic as Merry.... 4miles steady on flatish roads in the twilight. 32mins so no great shakes there! :(
