3.5 loopy miles this afternoon around Penistone Hill
20 mins jog followed by 20 mins swim.
Pool felt cold although thermometer read 20°
I train better on holidays.
More holidays abroad required😂
Big treadmill session this morning, 12 miles 5400ft, bringing the weekly total to 41 miles and 10000ft.
Quite a struggle, with all the short Fell and xc races this time of year, and subsequent speed work, to keep the mileage up. But it's only 5 weeks til the Cheviot Goat.
BLOODY good effort on a treadmill Travs.
You are bread for long boring runs with your current efforts.
A solid start to the week, 1 hour on the treadmill, 5 miles, 3100ft. Quite a painful looking club session coming up tomorrow.
Mulling over doing the local xc relays (3.2km legs) on Saturday, or travelling over for the Rhobell Fawr fell race near Dolgellau.
What a good day for training.
30mins jogging with 115m climb.
40mins steady mountain biking.
20mins swim in a cold pool.
All in all a grand days training.
Must be great for those who don't have to work.
Club night.
8 x 800m, with 2 mins rest after the first rep, then lose 10 seconds off each recovery period ongoing.
I was obviously working hard, as it was a real struggle just to do the arithmetic and keep track of what the recovery period was, and work out when I should start running again. This came to a head in the second half, when I couldn't even remember how many reps I'd done, and had to ask a group that I lapped, which rep they were on! So was obviously struggling with the effort!
Physically, I ran well, but reps 6-8 were a real struggle.
Total of 10.5 miles tonight, of which 4 were hard effort.
After slightly tried legs from yesterday I eased back a little today.
30mins mountain bike
25mins swim
25mins jog
A little tight in the right calf but now got it dangling in the cold pool.
Roll on tomorrow 😎
Hopefully.
Lose the demons of previous life and mental illness.
Get the fitness back and start mixing with decent like minded people.
Roll on tomorrow for another fun day of training.
