Great video, Thanks!
Hobble over for another year, have just been looking at previous years and times, have just found 2 finishers certificates from 1993 & 1994.They highlight the NEW route of 33 miles 4400 feet. Is this down to modern measuring devices? Where did that mile go? Where did the old route go? As for times, an hour slower than'93
A couple of folks had it as 31.7miles on their Garmins.
Last time I did Hobble was 2013 and FWIW times were about 5 mins quicker this year. Just proves what a good day for it it was. Mud was tame. Fab race as ever.
Shouldn't there be a marshall/CP taking numbers at Heptonstall? Just so there's no dispute that everyone has gone right up there. And to save folks running too far up the hill, I've done it once, others had on Sat.
I was chased down by a couple of folks who must have ran plenty of the long drag up from Hardcastle Crags, fair play Dan Shrimpton. Other one was was Martin Terry who chased down Mark Liptrot for the MV50 win.
I screwed up getting across the road at Todmorden. I went down the church snicket and you follow your nose cutting down and left, but I ended up coming down the steep road and turning left. Can anyone describe how you join the road directly opposite where you cross?
After going down the narrow paths from the side of the church and popping out at the side of the houses, turn right down the road then first left. Then left again down an unmade road then cut right down a grassy banking. You pop out directly opposite the road to the Mankinholes Climb.

Why worry?
The Hobble is a bit of fun for a Saturday in March.
In 1990 (when in my mid 40s I did 5.05) it was also listed as 33 miles and 4400 feet and the winner came in on 4.01 ie 7 minutes faster than this year, so I rather doubt that a "mile" has gone missing in the meantime.

Toyota crown- I ignored the so called short cut because I knew there were bra, blew and slippery cobbles at base. I actually beat 4 that took the short cut, one fell in the cobbles. by going the long way you have the chance to look for an opportunity to cross the road whereas those taking the short cut have to stop and wait unless they are lucky
