Trained on far side of field due to lack of light (no floodlights tonight), yellow flags were hard to see in the snow.
Ran to and from session
She does seem keener than my brother ever was.
My mum even had a go herself for a short while too.
You never know, as long as she doesn't start beating you ;)
1:00:05hr recovery pace, Plantation area, lower Chew, headtorch run.
Beautiful and a fine easy run :)
A strange days training. Sloped off from work at 3pm as I've got to do some more work later and headed off over the fields about 4pm. Halfway across "the hill" and the daylight gave up, which was a bit of a bugger as it was wet / frozen / muddy, and now dark. Slipped and slid my way back to the road and headed back along the roads, only to find a large area in the midst of a power-cut, so plunged back into darkness again! About 9 miles in total.
4 miles this morning, 8 miles this afternoon
No chance of running today because of ankle injury but did 12km on the bike in the gym in 20 mins plus a good blast on the X Trainer.
Played about in the snow for a bit out of Langcliffe but got snowed in and never made the summit. Felt a lightweight for a few seconds but will make up for it :D
A rare trip to the club tonight - Won the 3 miles handicap time trial:) (though there were only 8 taking part). - warm up and warm down (recovery) meant total of 5.5 miles.
90mins or so in the wet snow around Bradley and Farnhill Pinnacle with club. Taylor's on good form in White Lion
first running in nearly 3 weeks due to evil flu - 4 miles on the road - felt like the living end!!
3 weeks!! You have my sympathy ratfink.
I have gone down with a bug since last weekend's Ovenden run but not
sure if its THE flu or just a severe version of man-flu?
It started with just a sore throat but now it feels like there is
a steamhammer pounding in my head and both nostrils resemble the Zambezi
in full flood! At the moment I am coughing up all sorts of rubbish.
If I have a couple more weeks of this without running I will be definitely
climbing the walls:(
No! Man Flu is far worse than flu????
First run out of 2009. About 40mins. Did some short hill reps but roads still icy up here. Smashing views and warm sunshine. :)
cheers alf...
i was aching so much i had to go down stairs on my bum, cos my legs wouldn't bend (now that might be usual after a big race but wears a bit thin over 2 days of sweating).
now just got a bit of a residual night cough
- aah feels good to moan :p - i've been refraining from moaning for ages cos there's people like sapper running through chemo...
11 miles on tarmac today
7.7miles around Dungworth Last night on a breakaway Warts Run, superb. Thick fog over Rod Moor Trig
55mins lower Chew, great easy easy paced run under a bright moon. Nice and quiet in The Chew tonight, nice to see some chalk dabs on Myles Slab, naye chalk on the finishing holds tho! :)
Alternative to tonight's club session of 2 x 5 x 90 secs (45 secs / 400m jog recovery)
20 minutes warm up
12 x Asda hill (285 metres long - brisk jog down recovery)
10 minutes warm down
Not bad at all for an early morning run, first time I've used head torch in the morning too :)
:mad::mad:
None again daughter still ill:(
Wanted to go out for 5 hours today over Kinder and Bleaklow. Blue sky above cloud below. What a beautiful day. fingers crossed it's like this next Friday.
Short run tonight I guess :(
Sorry to hear that your girl's still poorly Ian! :(
4miles in 32mins on icy flat roads at dusk.
1:17:52hr Greenfield - Alphin - Wimberry - Plantation - Greenfield.
Brilliant almost full moon out tonight, skies orange/red out to the west. Frosty and icy on the moor, precarious descent off Wimberry, almost Spring like in the valley.....Fantastic evenings run :)
Sounds ace Phil, almost perfect conditions out tonight. Sure is bright enough to see.
Anyone training for this? Winter Handicap Tintwistle
1:20:11hr. Greenfield - Tanners Lane - Path up towards Binn Green - Res's - Dovestones Quarry - descent to main res path - Boulders - Plantation - home.
Great early morning run, caught the sunrise as I was dropping out of Dove's Quarry, amazing pink/reddish colouring around The Chew :):)
