Does the "land around Rollick Stones and Wildboar Clough" include the clough or is it the land directly to either side?
Re: Tanky's trog 5/12/2010 is
I think I missed it in 2008. And when I say 'I was taught' this implies some authority on the matter when what I really meant was 'Bill showed me a lilne off ......' and I've been using it ever since when competent.
As I said, if the route says we mustny go that way then that is fine, I am not arguing that we should be allowed cos we have in the past, just that it's years since the race route was down Tooleyshaw.

You can run up the clough, the path is up the right hand side then crosses the clough about half way up. You will see the fence that keeps you out of the shooting area

Hi again
Final details from Clair ???? I am getting more and more confused by this race everyday. So can we, maybe, not go down crowden little brook from black hill, the alternative being?? but maybe we can if permission, and we can go up wildboar clough as long as you cut in from the bottom avoiding the out of bounds area ?
Rather baffled.

Permission has not been granted to pass over the land around Rollick Stones and Wild Boar Clough as this is not Open Access Land and there is shooting!
Again not entirely accurate, probably a typing error, The land around the shooting area is access land(the shooting area is private and has been out of bounds for years although interestingly even this is marked on my OS map as access land:confused:) however from the email I recieved from Clair, Permission has not been granted for Wild boar and Lawrence edge.

Beats me how that shooting land is actually fenced off. I've always said it needs challenging. Who actually owns it

You and me both.
Clair is RO and so you go where she says unless/until told otherwise, if you want clarification I suggest you email her.

Down through crow den then right along the res, cross the dam, then it's Everyman for himself to wainstones.
I've done that way a few times and expect 15 mins extra yiannis. You can cut over to wainstones

Darren, I have not done the race since the Crowden CP was moved near the road, I have only done the route via Torside dam, as you describe. But this time I was looking for a bit of variety. Although this is a race with "route choice" between two CPs, it now is as good as fully flagged.
