Yup, over here :)
Still is, so looking forward to a nice evening ride on the MTB or crosser later... Not quite decided what bike, but it shall be taken out onto Haterall Ridge :D

TDF fever = 45 MILES
Total for July .
I'm cool, on todays 15 miles I returned from town with 1lt x milk, 1 x bottle white wine (now empty :o), 1 x packet postit notes. All in my little rucksac :D I reckon Hanneke will be proud of me ;).
Very proud Moley :)
I didn't ride :( Spent most of today out and about researching for our next exhibition. Got back after 6, had to do some stuff in the office, not home till 7.30, hungry, cooked then too weary to go out and do the planned sprint intervals. Think I shall skip tonights session alltogether!
WOW! Just wow :)
I have a new race bike and it is totally awesome! Done three rides on it since picking it up Friday evening and I am bowled over by it :)
I am so much quicker and more confident on it, cannot wait to race it!
Midlife crisis comes at a price, but no-one told me it was this much fun!
First outing on new bike, responsive frame, great braking, love it. Quick 10 mile with a bit of rough track thrown in:thumbup:
29 miles and 1400' climbing round the Dales today in 1.36. knocked 6 mins off my previous best.
shap and back time trial at the end of the month so thought I better get some bike training in
Brighton Big Dog MTB race, 6 hours solo. Absolutely awesome race! Great technical course, very slippy on the chalk. Loads of singletrack and rooty stuff. Loved it! Got better as the race progressed, every lap getting faster, my last one being the fastest, as I was getting better at it :)
I just LOVE that new bike. I won it some very posh carbon handlebars as well, which is great, as I went for cheap ones as that was where I could save some money :) The cheap ones can go on the old Kona.
I am now also the proud owner of a plethora of Lezyne goodies, bottle cages, pumps in all flavours! Very very awesome prize pot. First time I won cash for a race too! And I didn't forget to take my coat off when I was called to the podium, so the team jersey was visible :) Getting there ;)
great club ride Saturday
started off in a tropical deluge at 9.30am - some of the heaviest rain I've cycled in
About 80km round north-west Kent / south London - with a real tear-up over the last 15km, averaged about 40kph for that last bit.
up supporting family at borrowdale - grandparent babysitting meant got to go on first ride with the bloke since baby - race field - honister-newlands-whinlatter-honister in time to do some support- only about 30 miles - not done those climbs before - was really god - honister was a bit of a brutal warm up!
week before had really good club ride round peak before men's road race (nearly came to grief on a sandy corner - eek!)
well done on your race hann!
yeah should have said well done to H too!
And good riding the lot of you! Great pace and climbing...
Ratfink, Honister is a brute!!! Did you mange to ride up it without putting a foot down? I am finding it almost as hard as Hardknott...
Good three peaks training!
Very pleased with big day of training on Saturday... did X2 laps of the Helvellyn Tri bike loop on the TT bike with a bit added on to get to and from the loop. This added up to 133 km with 1879m of climbing including twice up Kirkstone via The Struggle... averaged 31kph which, for rough Lakes roads and a fair bit of climbing, I was really pleased with... threw in a run up and down Helvellyn from Glenridding to finish off the day.
Just looked up the Shap TT... It is the same day as my 12 hr MTB race :(
That is the only type of TT/road I still do: mountain TT's and hillclimbs. Pity, as it looks a good one!
Yesterday ( 6th Aug ), rode the Pennine Bridleway from Kirkby Stephen railway station to Cam End (then down the Cam High Road to Gearstones and Ribblehead station), accompanied by a young lady of this parish. The first off-road section from Street to the Mallerstang valley ( over High Dolphinsty ) would be better suited to a F/S MTB, we did quite a bit of "hike & bike" with the 'crossers, even on the initially very steep part of the descent into Mallerstang. The rest of the route was ideal for the cross bikes. Now done the Settle Loop and everything N of it, on 'cross bikes. Now looking to connect the Settle Loop to the Mary Towneley Loop.
2 1/2hrs bezzing about the local woods on my shiny new CX bike, bloody loved it. I feel like a fool for not getting on of these CX type beasties many years ago.
At least you got one now and are enjoying it :) They are great aren't they?
I did the Brecon Beast MTB race route the other day on the crosser with a mate. Very satisfying to find that even on a rough descent we overtook the full suss guys...They had ridiculed us earlier, when we overtook them on the way up to 'the Gap' then they came hurtling down past us only for one to come a cropper and two to puncture and the 4th to walk down the descent LOL
ION: speed work on the road bike yesterday... the type that gets gradally harder as the short recoveries don't quite clear the lactate from your legs. Last 10 minutes was an absolute pain cave, but hopefully it will make me a little faster.
Just back from a gentle walk in my socks. That extra hill rep seemed like a good idea till I punctured at the furthest point :)
Did a little 15 miler on the fixie with our lass on her MTB! 'Twas ok.
