Right Emms, how about this:
(While you were winding Dazza up)

Assorted semi squat things and waving bad leg around

I think I'm back in the game!! That game being of course, struggling to keep up with everyone else!;)
I am buggered!
Ran every morning this week and ran either 10 mles or done a sessio totalling at least 10 mles in the evening, apart from tonight which was kadi's birthday party. Upping the mileage now for the FLM. Not sure how many weeks it is away at the moment but it wil be soon be here.
Keep the training up. I find it the toughest time of the year to train at the moment. Real dark mornings, usually wet and cold everytime you go out of the door and the time you need to be getting the miles in. And then aftera full day at work which is tough at the moment with Year 11 preparing for GCSEs you do it all again. But this is what I and we call fun, so enjoy it.
Agreed Andi a very tough time of year weather's usually crap and your (and others) target race (s) is / are generally well away at the moment.
5 miles on the roads tonight with tryfan.
A nice easy plod for two hours, rain for first 15 minutes or then fine after that.
3 mile pre race run.. :D
Nice short speed session of 34mins. 5 x longish hill reps then 5 x shortish reps all with recovery. That'll do nicely.
9 miles on the moors round Ogden taking in most of the Ovenden fell race, boggy as today with last night rain, bath now half full of mud:rolleyes:
Heaton Park, Manchester. 8.30am
Warm up, 5 x 1 mile off 2 mins recovery, 8 x 15secs hill and a warm down.
Thank you very much to the public of Manchester for once again demonstrating how you can not read signs about keeping all dogs on leads.
This weeks training
monday 12th - 5 miles fast road (it was steady for everyone else) with Beaumont runners in leicester. Felt strong, Ankle fine
13th - rest, saw Dr re injuries as physio is wiping me out cash wise and things are not improving that much, very young dr saw me whilst he was wearing cycling tights and trainers, came away with referral to musculo skeletal clinic with promise of access to Pods and physio and interim physio starting this monday (I gave him details of Stanbury Splash and the FRA website), thank god for the NHS.
14th - Plan to run Embasy torch race, daughters parents evening ran over ("She walks on water Mr Smithson - can we canonise her", its a catholic school - Her view was "dad you are so embarrasing" when her mother and I questioned the small amount of homework she gets - least i am doing my job right by being embarrassing). Could not decide whether to go out on own and do 7- 8 hilly road run as felt quite strong or have beer, wine and pizza.
15th Ran/ staggered 4 very slow road miles stinking of stale beer, wine and pizza early am. Had to share a bottle of rosé in the pm to help recover. Very weak. Ankle ok
16th - Marginally faster 4.5 road miles sweating out Rosé wine. Ankle bit achey
17th - 15 miles training run with club from Guiseley Baths, first half of Rombalds stride up to Weechers, partway cross moor and down to Burley, up Chevin and home. Felt ok hung on al way round and was strong at times, ankle feels crap.
30 mile cycle ride tommorrow all being well.
