Apologies for the silly question in advance. Anybody know why this race is named as such? Is it after the landscape artist?

Starts from turner hall farm. Not aware of any Turner works from this area? Although I prepare to be proved equally silly!
The name of the farm where it starts is Turner hall farm, so I guess it derives from that.
Thanks guys! Something as simple as that. Was hoping the route might follow something painted by William Turner or something like that ;-)
Cracker of a race this one, did it last year, can't make it this year because of family commitments, scenery is great, really runnable too.
A bump for this race for this coming Saturday.
Great route and all proceeds going to the Alzheimer's society. Probably one of the last few lakes races that's still pay on the day too but don't let the weather put you off it's going to be lovely!
oh and for those that were asking of its origin; I spoke to the RO yesterday and he said the race was set up to raise money for the above. He has known the family of the campsite for over 40 years and when the owner was diagnosed so the race came about.
Hope to see a few faces there at the weekend
emma.
This is a brilliant race. Really enjoyed it last year and sad to say I won't be there at the weekend.
Well, brilliant apart from the descent off the Old Man. Really don't like that bit.
Looks a grand day out this. We've got the in-laws visiting at the weekend; otherwise I'd have been very tempted to dig my best Walshes out
