IDP - is the long route "new and improved" as well then?
Is the route alteration permanent then ??
if so im the last winner of the original route :D:D
yes the change will be permanant which means there wuill be a new course record this year.
long route is virtually the same just starts/finishes at Crow edge in stead.
short route is from Langsett Irongate approx following long route but finishes by the Rescue Base.
a few route changes.we'll post the route later.
Worth noting the race route starts at Langsett but registration is at Crow Edge CC and we will bus you to the start.
Hope to get along to this and run the long route again, if you're taking runners for this as well as walkers.
Does the long route start at Crow Edge and the short route start at Langsett?
Roughly where does the long route go?
Ta
yes you can but it helps to know that you are entered to buy the food. etc
You can run the long route but it is a walk so no prizes but feel free to run and enjoy.
Maps should be available soon and I'll post on here.
Roughly the Long follows old route but starts & finishes at Crow Edge CC. Langsett barn wasn't available this year.
The race starts at Langsett Iron gate(first car park from Flouch roundabout) we will bus runners there from Crow edge before start so please be on time.
No route goes to the barn but both go up Cutgate along Howden Edge past Round Hill-Lady Cross-Fiddlers Green-Windle Edge-Windscar Res-Harden res(routes split here)-Hades Clough-Hade Edge-Snittle road(routes come back together) Ox Lee lane to race Finish at SE 175 052 long route continues to Crow Edge.
Hope this gives you an idea. Ox lee lane will be a hard at the end of the race:D
Longer fits in with my training, and I wouldn't be quick enough to be anywhere near the front on the 'run' route. I thought the chilli at the end was the best prize anyway :)
It was hard enough last year only mid-way through the long route with all the mud and that nice little climb up Crow Hill at the end:eek:
Will get my entry in in advance so you know I'll be wanting some food :)
Route Descriptions now up

Have been reliably informed that there is no 'runners' category for the long route. So if you plan to run the 23miles you set off with the walkers at 8am.
Crumbs, that's early..... :(
Still not sure, might well stick to the short route so I get an extra hour or two in bed! ;)
