Correct Scott. It is the Yorkshire Championships for all ages over 16 years.
too late I was on it last night watching footy at the pub.
going out training tonight as a punishment
we are doing last half of TOP on Sunday as well so it will be a whole weekend off the booze, but I am a fire marshall at Bentham's firework display this saturday evening so it usually ends up in the pub. its going to be hard not to have a pint or three
For anyone travelling through Ilkley tomorrow beware of holds up caused by roadworks on the A65 on Addingham side of the town. Probably better to cross river and go through Middleton, Beamsley etc ;)
Just managed 2.5 mile ok so i reckon my knee might hold out for tommorrow, i'll be so glad to get running again and christen my new PB Racers.
Hi all
I've just joined the forum in search of some late night advice about tomorrows race as the panic sets in.
In my extreamly brief history of fell runs i've done Auld lang syne, where I came 2nd to last, the bunny runs, beefy nab and the Bronte way where i came 5th to last so I'm wondering if tomorrow is slightly out of my league.....?
Thanks :)
Just go for it Eddie.
Its only 4 mile, I jogged the 2 mile to the top last wednesday with a 6 year old and was sub 1 hour. 35 mins back to the bottom.
Yes its tough but just get out there and give it your best.
PS Then when you complete the race get to the pub and thank PJ for a wonderful event. He likes the black stuff with a white head;)
Sounds like good advice... I'll see you there, just make sure the pub is still serving by the time I reach the finish :)
what great day for the race. i came in about 5 from last but after my holiday 4 miles was a nice race to ease back in.
again thanks to the army of marshalls and the registration ladies etc. will definitely do this again next year
Yep agreed, great little race. Proper tester the climbs, lungs were really getting a beasting!!
Bogs were good fun as well, and a lovely flat out descent all the way to the finish.
Many thanks to the organisers/marshalls.
Looked like alot of people were there! =)
