About 2 miles from the finish i caught a bloke up who was struggling, gave him a jelly baby, thinking i had a few left, it was my last one:(

And aplogies to Clayton le Moors but who is the actual organiser of the race and can someone tell me who first started the Tour of Pendle. The guy at the prizegiving said it was there 18th year but obv this was the 25th running of the event.

There def was erosion problems in place on the course but I was surprised at how well intact the peat was compared to parts of the Peak District

It still amazes me how much gear some people are wearing to run a fell race :eek:.
Apart from a bit blowy on the tops it was certainly warm ISH

I first did it in 1982 :eek: but I can't rmrmber when it started.

This half of team pie was crap! thats me the short one!

Finished in about 3.09 i think but the wheels came off for me in a big way. The words Big Dipper, Bonked, B*"$%*d and Cramp describe my race perfectly...

Shouldnt have raced week before, then trained hard all week. Still love Pendle though great race, great people :)

P.S think i spotted the pink pony somewhere in the crowds of people, was thinking of suggesting saving me some cake but thought better of it!

don't say 3:09 was crap - think how us poor slow coaches feel.

Merry Legs i didn't actually have a change of clothes though i sometimes took off my hat.

daz - i wear less on shorter things where i am running faster :eek:

have yet to run topless though!!

1982 was the inaugural event although it didn't actually appear in the FRA calendar for the first time until the following year. The organiser was John Reade who ran and finished 13th. The winner was Kenny Stuart.

Crap for expectations placed upon myself by myself!!! You know when you have had a bad race, i had my suspicions when struggling to walk up the stairs Wed evening (after race previous weekend and training hard immediatley after) that i may struggle!

A topless tour of Pendle would be fun!;) tell me when and where?!?!?

I haven't got that quite right. It was included in the supplement to the 1982 calendar which was, I think, sent out to members with the July magazine.

I actually managed to get book off Oven Gloves now so feel free to pass on to another forumite. Its a great read really inspirational.

Am sure we will cross paths soon - i am in calderdale relay next and may run cysclist vs harriers on Sat depending on recovery!

not the relays for me, family gathering to attend. See you soon though and don't worry about me being in a zone that's just how I always look!! :D

I'm looking at a copy of the entry form for the 1982 race, which is a lavish affair even by todays standards, written on two pages of A4. It would even put the Three Peaks entry form to shame.:) The result sheets make fascinating reading, but I can't see you in there David.

I missed the prizegiving (:o) but I'm sure it would be Kieron Carr, the guy who has organised it (and usually run it) for the last 18 years.

Just looking back at the old results, some quality times there by the odd forumite or 2! Noticed one of our club members did a 2:22 in the early 90's.

Anybody heard anything on the results ?:)

Anybody know who was taking photo's just before getting to CP 2??

There seemed to be loads of photographers around on Saturday. Think the guy before CP2 had something to do with CLEM ?:confused::)

I'm still waiting for the photos taken by the chap who photo'd me in not too bad shape going up Spence Moor and then took several more of me in cream crackered 'shape' going up Big End (and offered me a choccy biscuit).
