Looking forward to the proper Taylor experience……… it’s our wedding anniversary today, so would be nice to have “Tim” join us to celebrate.
Only ever tried Landlord in a bottle…. slightly embarrassing as my Dad and his side of the family are all from West Yorkshire.
Thanks Dan. We'll know where to keep a look out for you. That'll be about 16.5 miles in give or take, so almost spot on halfway. I'll be passing through after 11am.
I'd be very happy with 6.5 hours as well but judging by how (un)fit I feel at the moment I'll be even slower than I was last year, when I got a PW by half an hour with 6:51.
Yeah Nick i got it at approx 17 miles, so over halfway distance but probably not time wise )due to the largest climbs still being to do). Ill be easy to spot with Luis on my back, I think i know who you are having met at the Hobble previously and Flower Scar last year.

What a race that was!
Probably went off a bit too hard, but having never done the distance, and with the generally runnable terrain, I found it hard to judge the pace, so I thought I'd make good time while I felt good.
Started to feel the pace around the halfway mark, luckily the climb up Stoodley Pike came at just the right time for me as it broke things up, and a quick stretch at the summit and I was back moving reasonably well again.
After unwisely running most of the hill up to Heptonstall and arriving there in 4hrs25, I smelt a sub 6hr finish. However I died a death on the final 8 miles which seemed to go on forever, finally finishing in 6hrs11.
Happy with my time but not so happy the way I capitulated, but my first time at the distance and I hung on.
Thanks to all the marshals at the checkpoints, which were superbly stocked with food, though to be honest just looking at doughnuts and hotdogs had me heaving, and I stuck to my trusty Kendal Mint Cake. Would imagine I'll be back next year with more training in the legs, hoping to get well under 6hrs.
Hello to Stolly who I chatted briefly to at the first reservoir before he rocketed off into the distance.

Firstly, got to try 4 different Taylor’s ales at the Fleece Inn on the Friday night….. Ram Tam was particularly nice. So that was a good start to the weekend.
Mrs C & I got round in ~6.34, so were reasonably happy with that. Great to see Dan out cheering us on.
Thanks to Brett and the rest of the team – a fine event. The hot dogs went down very well….. also spotted some Dalwhinnie on offer (one of my favourite malts), but decided to be sensible and give it a miss. Really liked the route. Weather was spot on…. actually a bit too warm as found ourselves wearing too much gear and overheating quite a bit.
