Not a bad "teaser" that's been posted on YouTube. Gives you an idea of the scale and magnitude of the race I think.
this was my third ever fell race after crawling round the tour of pendle and three tops in order to qualify. wanted to do 4:30 but ended up with 5.04 due to the dreaded leg cramps from Whernside on.
I have to say that it was a very well organised event and i am running in two races this coming weekend (Hutton Roof and Austwick) as i now have the bug.
I want to do this race again next year and hopefully i can knock a substantial amount off my time with a years training and loads of advice from you guys on how to get rid of the cramps.
doing the yomp on 1st of June so will be a big test for the dreaded cramps.
anyway, once again a big well done to the organisers of the three peaks for a fantastic event.
I am now hooked

I think you just need to get "fell hardened" which in my experience will take a good year or so. My 2006 time was 5:25 (lots of cramp, near death experience), 2007 was 4:53 (cramp) and 2008 4:29 (no cramp, loved it).

Just to confirm that the race will feature in Northern Skies to be broadcast from Leeds on ITV1 at 8 pm on Friday 8th August. The same programme will be repeated from Newcastle in a couple of weeks, I will confirm details shortly. I'm told that the aerial photography is stunning.

Just watched it - was a 9 minute slot at the end of the programme - well worth the wait, though you have to sample the 'delights' of Redcar and Ferrybridge Power station first!!
Thanks Witton Park, that worked perfectly even though I am not in the Yorkshire ITV region. The aerial views really caught the scale of it and I was glad to see the fastens had to walk too!
Any chance you could do the same for the next showing in 2 weeks time and we can spread the word?
