I dropped my tick in my bedroom - you think you have a problem!
How long do they live without food? :(

Hiya everyone, this is not just a fell running issue. But i have just came home to find 2 ticks on my dog,and iv just got one off me. This is not the first time iv been out in hills and came home with a tick,i had one on me and didnt know it was there until i got in a bath, it could have been there for days and it left a red mark. Does anyone else get these pesky little parasites, and do i have anything to worry about?
thank you!
Just bumping this, a report just out from the Edale team

Dear all,
please be extra vigilant when out and about. A local climber has contracted lyme disease from ticks he picked up whilst out on Baslow Edge.
If you do pick up a tick, it should be removed carefully, taking care not to leave the ticks mouth parts in the skin.
If after you have had a tick you develop any illness, consult your GP, and remember to say you have been bitten by a tick.
I have put an information leaflet on the website about Lyme Disease.
It is treatable and responds to a course of antibiotics.
Stay Safe!
I don't think I've ever had a Tick Bite, I'm assuming I'd notice at some point but so far nothing. Long may it continue!
Strangely I also don't seem to get mosquito bites when on holiday whereas my wife gets covered in them. Maybe I'm not insect friendly :)
