Just not my fave race mate, could do with doing it for the grandprix points.
Bad memories of last year, especially roadrunner knocking 4 minutes off the record whilst i struggled through the bogs. talk about rubbing your nose in it.
Rather take my chances on the descent at helvellyn:eek:
Looks abit windy out there this morning!:(
Heh!
Sorry to miss your post Frodo, I guess this is too late now - just in case, the only checkpoint is the trig point at the top of Black Hill!
Obvious route to the top and it's flagged from there (some plonker managed to drift off the flags last year :o ).
Well, that was a toughie! I thought I was going to be blown off the edge on the way out. It was almost impossible to walk, never mind run, in one or two places. Good to get to the trig point. Only one person went by on the way down. I never look bac. Expected quite a few to come flying by.
At the finish, one or two people decided to sprint. I think one guy regreted it as he gave the gravel a flying flop!:(
Thanks to the organisers for a super day out. Big thanks to my mate Alex who is getting better and better. 16 years between us (I'm the old one) and it won't be long before I'm following him in.
Blimey Charlie that was bloody tough!! The wind was horrible:( To make matters worse,at about 2 miles I took a fall and in the process whacked myself in the face giving me a nose bleed that lasted all the way round. That apart I really enjoyed the race, thanks to the organisers for a great event:D .How did everyone do?
might be tomorrow for pics, so till them, enjoy the view
Just over 3mins slower than last year ,dont know how much I can put that down to the wind.
Cracking day out, the wind was very scary at Laddow (I was glad it wasn't blowing left to right or we'd all be dead now).
I improved my time by 4 minutes from last year which I was disappointed with because I was gunning for a 10 minute improvement, not sure if the conditions are to blame or not as it was very dry on the return (still managed to lose my entire left leg in a bog).
Very enjoyable, hope you all did well.
