I think she put Alex Salmond in charge of that department!

Ex had the situation of being given her first jab but it was registered by NHS as the second jab. Couldn't book a second jab (did walk in for no.1) as she hadn't had the first one!! Eventually sorted over Christmas when daughter took her and explained situation (Ex can be short of patience so daughter dealt with it!!). Was then given number to ring to get the admin changed on NHS website. Details taken and then told someone will ring you to confirm this all in 4-6 weeks to change it. Hours they'll ring 8 to 4-30, Monday to friday, they'll ring twice and if no reply will do nothing apart from query will be shelved and you have to ring up again to start the change. Issue is ex is school teacher, school finishes 4, where she teaches is basement classroom with precious little reception, so chance of getting through very unlikely. All due to NHS making the initial admin error!!
I've thought for some time that we have been lacking in strong leadership through this crisis. The fact that people are turning on other people, devolved nations making their own decisions and not having a coordinated strategy all stinks like weak leadership to me. This is where devolution shows its worst side, imagine how much of a struggle it would have been during the blitz if Wales said it was keeping the streetlights on in the cities to stop old ladies falling over; and if London said to Edinburgh, " sorry lads, were not wasting our AA shells on the dorniers if they're headed for you". The leadership seems to have been based on doing what makes the leaders look most competent, which strongly suggests they fear for the discovery of their own inadequacy. The people who have shone brightest in this kerfuffle have been the frontline NHS staff. Elland road vaccination centre in Leeds is very professionally run, and I have heard similar reports from all over the north. It's clear to me who is earning their stripes in this pandemic.
Sorry to hear about your daughters experience Pete. My experience was the opposite. I had jabs 1 and 2 in England but was called for my booster in Wales. I turned up expecting problems and had my record card out at the ready, but the booking clerk told me "no its all fine, I can see you record of injection on my screen". Computer said yes, remarkably!
My brother and family, all double vaccinated, arrived from Australia the week before Christmas.
They had a booster on Christmas Eve without any admin shenanigans!
Had a Christmas email from my older cousin in Australia today, he is going to phone for a catch up. Not sure if he has been done, he has always been a conspiracy guy and is well into it all with the vaccines - it is all about THE MAN trying to control us!
He's a really nice, intelligent guy but always been like that - and global warming doesn't exist .
I found out this week that a sizeable chunk of my cousins on one side of my family are heavily anti-vaccination, as well as being massively into conspiracy theories as well....
Considering they are for the most part very intelligent. good jobs, etc, i find it so hard to understand...
I don`t get what a persons job etc has to do with their right to exercise their freedom of choice.
I am not interested in arguing about what might be right or wrong for people in various occupations etc but merely just pointing out that we live in a country that allows a freedom of choice which we should all respect.
The only quibble I have is what the need is for anti-vaxxers and those that have been jabbed to bang on about it and knock one another over their choice, I am aware of all the arguments for and against the jab but none the less I try to respect a persons choice and not knock their decision.
I have un jabbed members of my family and we just use common sense as to whether we see one another or not (mostly not but no animosity either way).
By the way I exercised my freedom of choice and am triple Jabbed and only time will tell if I made the right decision.
Happy New year all:)
