I don't think there are any flags between the checkpoints and clips, but the visibility shoukd be good if the forecast is right.
I wear the x-talons a lot, just my preference. Roclites might be better, but mine fell apart in the winter. It is fairly muddy between Great Punchard Head and Level House and again after Surrender Bridge. Having said that it has been dry all week, so it should be good going. I'm thinking adidas XT4 now! Hmmm
We're just on a day trip this time, but lunch in the Buck Inn sounds good.
Unfortunately I can't do this excellent race this weekend - been diverted to the Lakes instead for support duties. If anyone wants my entry and can do a bank transfer for the £20 entry fee tomorrow then pm me and we can do the substitution on line tomorrow evening. cheers

Cheers Dick. I'll try to hang on to someone's coat tails ! Mapped it out last night & I think there are just one or 2 sections where I may get lost. I won't be pushing it, so will be quite happy to hang about & wait for somebody.........& hope they know the way.
I think we get a meal at the end don't we? You will have eaten & showered by the time I get in!
What a cracker this was today. A stunning route. Good to see you Rev.
Despite the appeal at the start of the race I picked up 6 empty gel wrappers. I just don't understand the thinking behind the decision to drop them. You know who you are.
Recently did Yorks Three Peaks as a walk. We picked up 18 'lucozade' bottles, two caffeine drink cans and half a dozen gels. We caught a charity walk group from Asda who said they'd been issued with stuff at a check point so I spoke to the organisers when I found them! Good day out though! As you, no idea why they drop stuff that weighs nowt!
