this looks like a great race, is the course fully flagged. It states navigational skills are required, and I'm quite new to navigating. If it is fairly well flagged then I will turn up for it. It looks like a great race.

good choice of date Allan
It will be well flagged if I get some offers of help...!
Is anyone else doing this one this one on saturday?
I ran this years ago and really enjoyed it, does anybody know if there are any results posted so I can see how i have regressed with age!!!!
I'm doing it hopefully. Last did it on my 50th birthday 3 year ago. Champagne in the Causeway Foot pub afterwards to celebrate !
No champers this time, I'll probably have a Guinness or two though :)
haha, referring to the winter hill race, I never said I wouldn't carry the kit, I just feel maybe the rules should be a little more flexible according to the weather. Obviously i'm going to bring full body waterproof cover, it's sheer folly not to with the rainy weather we've been having. I always carry waterproof cover in my rucksack whenever I go for a run these past few weeks anyway just in case I get caught out in a downpour miles from home. Anyway, I am looking forward to doing this on saturday.
Could try here
Sometimes I wonder if I should spend my time running :)
Snow has been forecast !!
Bring FULL WATERPROOF WHOLE BODY COVER. That windfarm wasn't built for it's striking looks !
Also, please car-share where possible. Since the last race (2009), double yellow lines have been painted on Ogden Lane and all the way up Syke Lane (the lane opposite the pub). Perhaps forumites could arrange to meet somewhere then share a lift to the venue?
RACE PARKING IS ON THE FIELD TO THE REAR OF THE CAUSEWAY FOOT PUB
The Ogden reservoir car parks will be chock full as there is a walking event on starting at 9-30 - 10-00am ish.
Hope to see you there for another enjoyable morning out.
