Christopher McDougall's Born to Run - personal message to inov-8 head designer
A good friend of mine is about to race a marathon in his FiveFingers - looking for sub 3hrs!!
Good for him.
Has he been using them long? I've heard of quite a few people who have tried to run too far, too fast and too early. Ended up with bone fractures etc. I've been using mine for 6 months now and although I can run long distance off road, on road I can only run up to 10 miles.
Good luck to him though!
Will keep you posted... I think he's entered Berlin.
I just ran the Peris Half Horseshoe in a pair of Flows, with mixed results. Ive written an account of it here.
I think it's all about the new Vibram Five Finger Treks - mine are due to arrive in October...
I posted this on the Training thread but why not here as well.
The Leadville 100 in VFFs.

I completed 2 marathons in FiveFingers KSO....
I was dealing with IT Band syndrome while I was training for my 1st marathon and the only one I did shod... Since I transitioned to barefoot and minimalist solutions (VFF, huaraches, light racer flat) I got rid of ITBS.
I will never do a marathon with anything less minimalist than the lightest racer flat available ( Mizuno Wave Universe, Asics Piranha SP...). And for distances of half marathon or shorter I can go barefoot. I still have to see what I can do in mountains... :D
