Think this is the contact page I used - I had registered my Garmin online though and they asked me for the serial number on the back. Should be fine though as they were v helpful. I sent mine back and got a brand new one within a few days. Really great service.

This is what happened to my 205 - but it was several years old and I did not try to get it replaced.

I've had three or four Foretrex 201s. They've been too old to get replaced on warranty, but they replace them for the servicing charge which is about half the price of a new one.

Cheers, will give it a go, though mine is knocking on a bit now. (Wish I'd've thought of this when it first started misbehaving a couple of years ago!)

Have just "updated" to Windows 8 as I was told it would be quicker - have had to redo the three downloads from Garmin for my 610 and it still isn't working ..... I did read somewhere that Windows 8 is only an advance if you have a touch screen - wish I had listened.

Has anyone else had any trouble with the soft strap ("premium" or whatever they call it) HRM? When I use it for indoor turbo sessions it just gets saturated and then goes to pot completely. Quite frustrating when I'm on a hrm-based session. I'm going to revert back to one of the harder plastic straps again which I've had no trouble with for a couple of years.

Yes, mine goes completely spazzo when I am racing downhill. Apparently a frequently discussed problem on Garmin Fora but I ain't checked it out myself...who cares what your heart rate is going downhill???!
