Just received an email from one of the Ben organisers saying that a decent quality red jacket had been found after the race.
If you lost one, pm me, and I'll forward your details.
On conditions of entry it states that Competitors must be members of a bona fide Athletic Club - does the FRA count?
Or will I actually need to join a Club - all of the clubs close to me are geared towards road runners and I really don't want to join!!
Also, do the 3 Category A races have to be within the last year?
Yes you can. I entered originally under the FRA last year, but got it amended nearer the race date when I joined a club.
Yeah there are loads of FRA runners in this. I'm fairly sure they just want proof of fell running experience, so I'm sure that if some of the A races are more than a year old you'll be ok.
Thanks for the advice, only 1 hurdle left, which may be the hardest, - persuading my wife that this is a good idea!!
I notice that the ben nevis race states that competitors must be members of a bona fide Athletic Club.
I also notice that the entry list states some entrants club as fra.
Is this the fell runners association and if so presumably this counts as a bona fide athletic club?
Cheers.
All been discused before http://forum.fellrunner.org.uk/showt...en-Race/page52 Its a long thread going back years. Should have all the answeres you require somewhere.
I know it is very early for to be talking about this but i'm keen to do it and just wanted to understand the entry requirements
It mentions needing to have done three A races - are these of any distances and does it have to be in this year?
Anyone know what classification Kinder Trog is?
I don't recall any requirement of them being in the same year and they can be of any distance. So pretty easy to get three A's in before the end of the year.
It's a long thread but all has been answered at some point over the last couple of years. The link starts it from page 51 where Antisocial gets a reply from the organisers about the same question novice asked.

Seen on the website that entries are open but heard the race is full?????????? Any news?
Thanks.

There goes my Early entry! ;-)
Will post an entry form in...hope so..cracking event.
Haha da iawn!! good stuff, thanks for that buddy :-)
Any ideas as to how long it takes before an entry list appears - presumably before the end of February?
By the 28th Feb, according to the website http://www.bennevisrace.co.uk/
Would be nice to know a bit sooner to sort out accommodation and so on, but the website strongly discourages individual enquiries, and I can understand why.
If your cheque is cashed your in!
Cheques are undated, implying they might not be cashed for some time, but that may be to simplify waiting list payments. Has anyone had their cheque cashed yet?
Doh and double Doh!!!
Just realised yesterday but still popped one in the post... you never know eh?
Oh yes we do!
Sorry, couldn't resist it - of course I hope you get a place.....
or Ben Hope!
cape of good hope??
Well, the waiting is over. The provisional entry is list has gone up! So take a deep breath and check the website.
Ooer I'm in again this year. Looking forward to it, but hard to imagine running for a bus at the moment!
I'm in, will be my first one :coollarge: - so why do I feel apprehensive :o ?
It seems to have a fearsome rep... Never mind, roll on September !
