Where are these pix coming from? Have they been sent out in an email?
3.01 not as bad as i thought but should have been a lot better!
Still a good run and back next year to exorcise thoe demons!
ha ha ha, they actually did publish the club name i put down for me: Darth's darksiders. The Dark sith lords shall rule the fells:D
Just in case anyones missed them there are some pics on the Clayton le Moors site. Mostly Clayton runners, but I think I managed to get a few forumites too at the gates to the fell early on and approaching the trig to Check 10.
Keep an eye on Steve Bateson's site - he was taking photo's near me at the gate to the fell and he's a much better photographer. If you google runningpix you should find him.
Cheers
How big was his lens Emm?;)
Hi everyone, since this race isn't too far off this year, I was looking for a bit of advice. I would like to take part but was wondering how difficult it is compared to the Winter Hill Race, which I ran earlier this year. I know its a bit longer, but I mean in terms of overall difficulty, so I can know what I'm letting myself in for :)
Compared with Winter Hill the significant difference is the climbs - at Winter Hill they are mostly gradual, runnable for most. At the full tour they are taller and steeper particularly on the second half where the route zig-zags up and down the north face of the hill. On the other hand more of the run is on established paths which is a factor if it is wet as the the ground underfoot is better and not as sapping as Winter Hill .
Prepare the suffer, although the distance may not look much greater the overall is probably about double.
So who' actually doing the tour this year then?
Can't wait for it myself! :)
I might be :)
i may give it a go
Just found out I don't need to be in Birmingham until 3 in the afternoon tomorrow. Thinking of heading over to Pendle at 5am for a Headtorch Half Tour, and maybe catch the sunrise from the top. Anyone fancy joining me for a recce, or just for the sheer joy of running?:D
anyone know if there's an entrants' list somewhere online?
or are you meant to hear something by email or post as confirmation of entry?
cos I haven't
It's organised by CLEM

I have done this for the last two yers and i cant remember if they put a entrants list up on the Clem Harriers website.
I have only this morning sent off this years entry, i think if you sent it you will be in if your not sure you could always ring Kieran Carr the organiser.;)
yeah I had a look there, ta
just wouldn't mind knowing whether my form was received or not, so at least I know which queue to join on the day
lots of mail to / from London has been lost during the post strikes
Kierans number is on the entry form on the Clem website ring him he is a really nice bloke.
sent him an email, cheers ali mac
Zoot,
I pre-entered a few weeks ago and enclosed an SAE. I got back some old photocopied results and split times and a map of the checkpoints. Sure they will just have our details there on the day.
i entered in January when the calendar was published
