Thats me not doing Snowdon again this year then. Bollocks.
Just got my "You're in!" confirmation email. Roll on July... :)
Notice it's first day of kiddie school holidays, bet traffic'll be murder going into N Wales... :(
All information regarding the 2009 race is available on the race website.
If you have entered and been accepted, congrats, but if you feel that you need to pull out due to injury etc, then please let us know, you have until June 1st to let us know, then you will have a refund of £10 if you let us know by 1st June.
We do have a junior race this year, details to follow.
Also by the time of the race this year 18th july the new summit station will be open, so therefore, the race will be diverted back on to the footpath 'up and down' no running on the railway. This could change if the summit station will be delayed, I'll keep you posted through the forum or the race website.
On the webiste -
- cut off point 2009,
- car park information
- Presentation times changed
- Televised again
- ETC...........
Thanks
I love you.
Junior race quality
Are there any prizes for best loser
Dont quit Fellmonster. Its worse than doing badly. Hobble round if needs be the views are worth a tenner alone
Thats an improvement. I got accepted last year but then found out i couldnt run. Someone else offered to buy my number off me but i thought i would do the right thing and emailed the organiser to tell him i was withdrawing. I got f**k all back, no refund and no acknowledgement of my email:mad:
Well, looks like my lift over to Snowdon's sorted out, travelling with Alphin and Fleeter. See you there forumites! :)
Whats the best campsite to stay at? is it worth booking???
Soon come round:)
This one here? http://www.campinginllanberis.com/
He actually just opens up more fields, so it never quite fills up as far as I know. And the farmer runs!
There has been an update on the website about the route etc, link below:

Bugger, that filter system at Clogwyn looks like it rules out the going Left immediately as you pass the railway which is a nice little line. The major short cut is now gone which is a pity, but don't think they had a choice. However the reason why that is used by everyone, runners and walkers, is the alternative 'path' is in a mess and needs work done ASAP (there are bags dropped there now so hopefully by next year that section will be better).
Any word on international entries for this year?!
Wales A is Rich Roberts, Math Collins (I think), Martin Shaw, Andy Davies, b: Math Roberts, Roland Stafford, Chris Near and me.
Women: I thinK Sarah R, Jenny Hemming and Andrea Roberts.
England's team is posted on the fellrunner site I think.
Not sure on Scotlands.
You mean on the way down when you go off to left - where you fell on the tv programme last year??...if so then that funnel shouldn't have an effect should it as the funnel is the other end of the tunnel?. Still hope it doesn't effect it as I went up and down that way last week and deffo much better. Also that bad section where you ain't aloud to take the big - well a nice little trod has developed on either lhs on way up or rhs on way down so we can miss it out either way.
Also mentions 3 peaks challenge on website - they'll be going up Pyg / Miners wont they - so shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Internationals: Think Julien Roncon - 2nd in 2004 and 11th in the Europeans on wknd and Emmanuel Meyssat are running for France (8th in Euros) so could be an interesting one?
Northern Ireland men's team:
Andrew Niblock
Gary Bailey
Johnny Steede
Alex Brennan
It depends how busy it is, it'll mean crossing the flow or the runners though.
Yeah sore that trod when we checked it out a few weeks back.
I think sometimes the 3 peakers come down the Llanberis Path as there is a marque, finishing tent, food etc provided in the car park in front of the Vic..I think this gets around parking issues at PyP..
Massive high pressure block pushing in on Friday so weather will be interesting?!?
supposed to be sunny with showers on sat , and i think we know whos going to win ?
Looking forward to this one way or another - got a number to run but had the mishap of hurting my back and side at work on Thursday. If no improvement by Wed morning might have to revert to walking up with the camera for photos instead.
Anyone know what the weather forecast is for this race?
Wil the below link gives some good info on the weather side of things:

Not updated for Saturday as yet but I always check with Mountain Weather Information:

is anyone tappering or taking any time of training for this, usually before a longer race (16-20 miles+) id take day off, but ive been debating whether to still go for a run or out on bike on fri. which ever i do i expect ill still be cursing at some point in the race wishing id done something different training wise this time.
Hello All ,
I just pulled this of the Met office web site for the Snowdonia area .
Saturday
After a dry and bright start it will cloud over, with rain moving in from the west at some point during the day. Winds, mainly light in the morning, becoming gentle south to southwesterly in the afternoon.
I'm doing stipperstones fell race (AS) in shropshire tonight as a warm up for the big event on Saturday .
Really looking forward to the weekend .
Pinno , if you can take your camara that would be great . I don't think Al Tye is doing Snowdon this year . I'll ask him tonight .
See you all there
Not that it makes that much difference to my performance but I'd never run (or cycle) the day before a race. For a 10 miler I'd probably maybe have a mid week run or two but nothing run too hard and nothing after say Wednesday. For a longer race I might take it even steadier. I seem to run quicker and am less prone to injury with a rest up.
Did my long weekend run on Sunday, Trunce race Monday night and a short 30mins trot yesterday. Nowt planned and enforced rest until Saturday with my feet up as much as poss.
It's obviously a different sort of race to a 3Ps event but I don't think resting up is a bad idea even though it's only a **short**() 10miler.
Good luck to all at snowdon on saturday. I have a feeling the internet is going to be cutoff later today
Pinno ,
Hope you can run mate .
I may take my phone/GPS/camera thingy and see if I have time to take some shots on the way up/down . It would give me an excuse to have a rest ;)
Mrs N will be at start to take some shots .
Latest weather ...

I've been struck by flu sumptoms 2 days before the race and its not getting anybetter so Im reluctantly pulling out. Anyone know what to do with my entry and If I could give it to somone else. Any one interested????
Al Tye is attending another race Saturday I think? so if I don't run I will certainly be taking the camera.[/QUOTE]
I understand Al will around Snowdon somewhere.
We will be on Siabod , same rain different hill : )
Pete
As you say pete ... Same S**t different hill .
Have a good run .
At least Al won't be able to get a photo of me struggling up yet another hill .
Weather looks good. No-one should get lost anyway!!!
Not racing, but heading up to watch. I'll be the one with the grumpy four-year old wanting to go home and saying "This is boring, can we go home now?".
Kids eh? What do they know??
