Just back from a really enjoyable run on the 1st leg. Many thanks to my partner who although sightly quicker than me couldnt have been more supportive, unlike no.96 who hared past us on her own and was then waitng for her partner on the road above Rippoden. If anyone ever tried that with me they would get the baton wrapped round the back of their head:mad:
An added bonus is that as i was up at 4.15 this morning i will probably nod off tonight while my other half is watching X Factor
Thanks to all the marshalls and helpers for a great day
Yeap, a well organised event indeed.
Almost went wrong on leg 3 where you turn off and head past those two sheds before the golf course, but a bingley pair behind us where true gentlemen and shouted us back.
Really enjoyed the route and was supprised how quickly it was over and done with....time flys and all that.
Had a short chin wag with antisocial...what a wonderful fellow indeed, mudders at the startline as he said he would:D, Derby Tup after my leg and then the great man himself...Ian...Dark....Peak! and storyteller., fleeter, stanners and screw-loose turbo.
Reet grand day.
Leg 3 was a lot drier than I expected. The last bit on the moor had been virtually a river a couple of weeks ago, but it was good going today.
I reckon it was a pretty good day for a December race in Calderday today

Had a fab time on a muddy Leg 4 after being drafted into service at the last minute.
The thought of having to organise something like this gives me shivers, so massive thanks to Halifax Harriers.
Nice to have a quick chat with Derby at Blackshawhead, and Stringman at Wainstalls.
Hello, well it didn't live up to its nick name - Coldandwindy Relay - did it? What a fantastic day! Ran leg 2 for the first time. My partner struggled a bit but we passed a number of teams throughout the leg. Anyone any idea how PFR did?
Didn't spot you DT.
Was parked up at end of Leg 4 to get the missus and partner off.
The Ilkley lady leg 4 runners came in about 20 secs before the mass start was due off and there was some stress locating Mrs and partner mid-pack, getting the baton to them and geting them clear of the masses.
Well done all relayers by the way, been a busy day and never got out to see any of you.
As i say i do like the guy but he isnt exactly a top pro himself is he......i mean cmon id take it if it was from Jebby or summat but a mid pack runner from Keighley yeah right, And yes AS you probably did get a faster time than me today and you are a better runner than me but lets face it your not exactly getting any younger are you
