I am amazed you recognised me, we just passed for a couple of minutes last year, you have a good memory for faces.
I made it to the Soldiers Lump. It was fair hard going. The snow was so deep and soft. I am not a great fell runner I would have been happy with 4.5 hrs for Tanky's in good conditions but it took me 2.5 hrs to get to the summit of Black Hill. My earlier comments in the forum with these conditions adding 2 hrs onto my time was hopelessly optimistic.
I met a cross country skier at soldiers lump looking at him in envy as he slid off across the snow, knowing I had to trash back down to Marsden again.
Glorious morning though, blue skys sun in my face.!!

Were you the gent with whom I ran back to Marsden this afternoon?
If so, nice to meet you. Great conditions for it, but heavy going underfoot. With your description I'm glad I decided not to go up Black Hill. Awesome views at Wessenden Head and West Nab though.

Yep, it was a mixed blessing meeting you, it was nice to have the company but I was completly knackered at that stage and you forced me to stay running to keep up with you.
The views on top of Black Hill (White Hill) were amazing just so hard to get there.

I must admit I was happy to walk once we hit the road; was pretty tired myself at that point!

I thought you were a god when you said "I usually walk from here"

Twas magical on Kinder yesterday in the glorious sunshine and glittering snow. Not the quickest conditions on the 7 minute crossing as the snowmonster covered for the sleeping bogmonster.
Clare, also thanks for your attempts to get the race held. Please also donate my entry fee.

As far as I aware BM no money has been donated yet, I'll send Clair a message and try and find out.
