I also heard that episode Mike, and as an avid fan of beetroot it was gratifying to know. I grow quite a bit of beetroot too, but not enough to last the whole year and so have to revert to buying those vacuum packed (long life) products you can buy in most supermarkets. The thing is, I'm not sure how the packed beetroot is prepared and wonder whether its potency is 'boiled-out' somehow. i also tend to pickle my beetroot for longer storage and again I wonder if the vinegar nullifies the beneficial effect.
I stopped using anti-bacteria mouthwashes years ago when I read that they also wipe out the 'good' bacteria related to cardio-vascular health

Regarding the health advice given in previous Michael Moseley's episodes, I now cold-shower every morning (you get use to it remarkably quickly); do daily press-ups (which Ive done for years); and stand rather than sit when reading/using the Mac, etc. I've tried incorporating 'mindfulness' 10 mins a day, but have less success at that in terms of setting side enough time :) I've been learning a new foreign language, daily, as another means to stimulate the the aging grey-matter in different ways other than just reading and Wordle!
