Round Rotherham Race. 50 Miles

YES - did fine on the cycle path bit that lost the front runners last year and in the first woods. Then on the sort of scrubby open ground after the village and before Scoles went wrong. Should have turned back earlier but carried on. Came out on a road I did not recognise but had no idea where I was. Decided by 'nose' to run up hill along road and then saw people emerging from where I had ben about 10 mins earlier!!
Many confused people as I stormed past muttering and trying to make up for lost time.

Then kept strip maps very much to hand but in trying to make up time ran too fast and triggered off my hip problem so was reduced to walk before R V Country Park. A small drug overdose sorted things and I spent the secnd half of the race clawing back time and places. In the end still cut 20 mins off last year but it should have been so much better!
